On Point

"On Point" is your point for relaxation and tranquility. Your self-contained, fully furnished private studio can accommodate 2 guests on the ground floor of our residence, with separate front access. The studio has a bed/living area, kitchenette and separate bathroom. Car parking for 1 car is available at your front door on the property. additional cars can park on the road. The living area has a queen bed, wardrobe, cute dining table/chairs, with a comfy chair for relaxing and watching the internet enabled Smart TV. There is a separate bathroom with shower, toilet and vanity, hairdryer and complimentary shampoo and soap. In case you forget your toothbrush & paste, or razor, we have packs available for a small fee. A kitchenette provides you with a bench, sink, fridge, coffee pod machine, kettle, toaster, crockery, utensils, microwave and small electric skillet frypan. Coffee (pods and granulated) and an assortment of teas are provided and you will find complimentary liquid refreshments in the fridge. A continental breakfast can be provided on weekends and public holidays for a small additional charge. There is complimentary wireless internet, air-conditioning (heating & cooling) and ceiling fan, and you will enjoy a comfortable, peaceful, clean and friendly environment. Tracey and Andrew will be available if required. We do however respect your privacy and will not interrupt your stay. During your stay, we will always be available if you need assistance with anything. Sometimes we may be working, but leave us a message and we will reply within the hour. We will be able to answer most of your questions about the area and advise you on the best opportunities available to suit your taste. Fishing Point has a quiet village atmosphere and our house is just a 5 minute walk from the shops. Here you will find a small supermarket, liquor outlet, newsagent, hairdresser/beautician, post office, award-winning butcher, café, restaurant, takeaway, petrol station, pharmacy, medical centre and physiotherapist. Just a 15 minute walk away you'll find Rathmines Club Catalina, with a great beer garden overlooking the lake. Rathmines had the largest RAAF flying boat base in the southern hemisphere during WWII and some of the original buildings and relics from the era remain, along with a war memorial. Wangi Workers Club and Wangi RSL are also close by, with a courtesy bus that will collect you from On Point and drop you back. Lake Macquarie is the largest salt water lake in the Southern Hemisphere. And where there’s a lake, there’s plenty of recreational activities – boating, fishing, water-skiing, sailing, kayaking, paddle and sail boarding. The public boat ramp is about 1km from On Point, so feel free to bring your own watercraft and make the most of this paradise. And if you simply want to “cruise”, Lake Macquarie Cruises offer a range of scheduled public cruises and private charter options for you to enjoy. Lake Macquarie Cruises “Lake Mac Ferry” is now also operating a ferry service each Wednesday, Saturday and Sunday. This can take you to various destinations around the lake, including Wangi Wangi just down the road Lake Mac Ferry A 5 minute drive takes you to Toronto Country Club, which hosts an 18-hole scenic golf course, a brand new driving range, and the club house. Toronto Country Club home to Toronto Golf Course A 10 minute drive will take you to Toronto, with everything you need, from boutique shops to cafes, restaurants and supermarkets. Larger shopping malls are located at Charlestown, Glendale and Kotara, 25 minutes by car en route to Newcastle. HMBA (Hunter Mountain Bike Association) was formed in 1985, making it the oldest mountain bike club in NSW. Awaba Mountain Bike Park forms part of the HMBA and is a 20 minute drive from On Point. Here you can take on some cross country and gravity trails or, if you are super experienced and with appropriate helmet and protective gear, you can try the downhill trail “Monkey”. Hunter Mountain Bike Association And last, but by no means least, Australia’s oldest wine region - the Hunter Valley - is only 30-40 minutes away by car. Hunter Valley Wine Country There are various means of transport available close by, whether you have your car or not. The M1 is close by, several train stations are close by, Newcastle Airport is a 50 minute drive, Uber runs in the area, courtesy buses to and from the local clubs. The 275 bus Wangi to Toronto via Rathmines & Fishing Point - the bus stop is walking distance from On Point.
