In central Portugal, Lake Rio Zezere is a real gem for the privileged few. In this area of great beauty, the lagoon of "Lago Azul" is one of the largest in the country and stretches over 60 km, between the municipalities of Tomar, Abrantes, Sardoal and Ferreira do Zezere . The energy, silence and harmony that reign here make this place the absolute place for resourcing, an unforgettable immersion in the heart of nature. The house, with its private access to the lake, offers a stay with your feet in the water. There is a pontoon at your disposal which will allow you to dive directly into the fresh water of the lake and enjoy water sports with a paddle board and a canoe at your disposal. A cozy and very comfortable villa which offers 3 double bedrooms for 6 people, including a suite with an office desk. Two bathrooms, one with shower only and one with bath & shower are equipped with towels, hairdryer and a weight scale. The house is fully equipped with heating and cooling air conditioning units and the living room has a cassette fireplace and a regular TV, a smart TV on the first floor and a Bluetooth music player. The kitchen is equipped with an induction hob, a microwave, a dishwasher, as well as a coffee machine and an electric kettle. The washing machine is also located in the kitchen. The garden and the property : The property covers 20,000 m2 with direct access to the Rio Zezere lake and the entire property is accessible to you! Access to the house is via a private road that crosses the eucalyptus trees, which perfume the air. The garden has a swimming pool, a hammock, two Fatboy poufs as well as sun loungers and a barbecue. A pergola houses a round table for 6 people and allows you to enjoy a shady corner with a view of the lake (not visible on the photos at present). For a long period of the year, you will enjoy picking sun-kissed fruits ... orange trees, clementine trees, lemon trees, fig trees, vines and grapes ... The property adjoins a marked long-distance hiking trail (“Sentier GR”) Activity and discoveries of the region : At the entrance to our village you will find a public fountain with pure spring water, which has a long standing reputation. Rio Fundeiro and Trizio… Within approximately10 minutes driving time you will find the road to Rio Fundeiro. There is a meeting point that provides access to the Club Nautica Trizio with several times a day a boat/shuttle. In less than 5 minutes you arrive at the "Trizio" where you can water ski, wake-board and many other water activities. You will also find a bar and a restaurant where you can eat in a very friendly atmosphere. Visit Dornes ... A village witnessing the past, a place of meditation for the Templars in the 13th century. The church "Nossa Senhora do Pranto" was erected in 1513. This small village is a legacy of the past, a little gem by the lake and one of Portugal’s seven most beautiful places. For horse lovers ... Colegã is a town located 45 minutes from the House of the Lake. The particularity of this village is its vocation for the Lusitanian horse (Portuguese breeding horse). Each year, at the beginning of November, the “Feira nacional do Cavalo” takes place. Horseback riding and walks: Ride and Escape / Golega a cavalo /Quinta da Boavista (horse-drawn cart tours and treks) Tomar ... Its city, former seat of the Order of the Templars and the Convent of the Order of Christ (Convento de Cristo), one of the most important artworks of the Renaissance in Portugal. The oldest urban area is medieval and organized in the shape of a cross, oriented and aligned with the cardinal points, with a convent at each end! You will find traditional trade shops and the old cafés, where you can taste the delicacies of the region. Do not forget its typical market on Friday morning next to he river! Nazaré ... its lighthouse and its giant waves. For many years the two big attractions of this city have been the waves and the surf. Surfers from all over the world visit Nazaré every year. It is no longer possible to talk about Nazaré without mentioning the world record for the biggest wave ever surfed in November 2011. The city of Nazaré now hosts major international surfing competitions and attracts thousands of curious people. It should not be forgotten, however, that Nazaré is a typical fishing village which has managed to preserve many of its ancient traditions. Fatimà ... and its sanctuary, a place of pilgrimage In the central region of Portugal, stands one of the most famous shrines in the world. Every year, tens of thousands of pilgrims converge from all over the country towards Fátima, sometimes on foot, to meditate in front of its Chapel of the Apparitions or to walk the Stations of the Cross. Obidos ...its castle and ramparts Here you will also find the fishing port of Peniche, the pristine beaches of Lagoa de Obidos and also the "Buddha Eden", Europe's largest collection of Buddha statues. For golf enthusiasts, there as several top class golf clubs located in this region. Castelo do Bode and its dam ... It is one of the tallest buildings in Portugal! The Castelo do Bode dam is used for Lisbon's drinking water supply, power generation, flood protection and recreational activities.
