A lovely cottage perfectly located for the Western Lake District, coast and the C2C track. It is warm and well equipped:-i king, 1 double,1 bunk ( 2 beds) and a comfortable double sofa bed.There is 1 bathroom and 1 shower room with toilets. It has dishwasher microwave, washer,dryer and fridge freezer, space to park your bike in the alleyway and a delightful garden with barbecue and garden furniture. Covid safe, radio linked heat, smoke and CO alarms, child friendly. Parking on the road in front This delightful cottage is in the quiet rural hamlet of Winder is a mile from the western boundary of the Lake District National Park only 3 miles from Ennerdale Lake. Ennerdale is internationally recognised as an important site for landscape, ecology and wildlife. By the waters of it's beautiful lake or by the River Lisa flowing down the head of the valley, or amongst it's woodland , or on it's magnificent peaks one feels both enchanted and humbled by the charm , majesty and beauty of this special place. We will meet you on arrival if we can , otherwise self check in using a key safe will be arranged. We will be available to contact during your stay in the case of any difficulty or emergency by phone or email or (Hidden by Airbnb) . We will provide an information folder with emergency contact information and general information about the area . There is also a file with information about all appliances and how to use them Winder is a quiet hamlet with pleasant friendly neighbours and passing vehicles are very infrequent.The Hound inn is half a mile walk away.The pretty village of Ennerdale Bridge is a mile and a half away with two delightful real ale pubs to choose from and "The Gather" ( a community run shop and cafe.A mile to the north is Rowrah with the Ennerdale Brewery tap and cafe. Whithaven with its pretty harbour, swimming pool and good selection of shops is just 5 miles away. From here there is a fine cliff to walk to St Bees. Frizington nearby also has a selection of shops and takeaways. The C2C cycle route passes just 100m from the cottage or for the more adventurous Whinlatter Forrest park mountain bike trails are a 20 minute drive away. Parking is available close to Ennerdale lake and swimming and canoeing are allowed , but no motor boats. High Leys Nature reserve is close by. Wath Brow & Ennerdale Anglers Association and Egremont Anglers share the fishing of Ennerdale Lake and a day ticket from either club entitles you to fish the river Ehen and Ennerdale Lake.Permits can be purchased form the Gulf Crossfield Garage ( beside the Co-op) at Crossfield, 3/4 a mile or so west of Cleator Moor square, on the Whitehaven road. There are too many beautiful lakes and mountains in the area to list them all here but we hope you find your own treasures and special memories on holiday here. The cottage is 8 minutes walk from the nearest bus stop which is a few yards to the right of the top end of the road. The 216, 217 and 218 bus services operated by Jansen travel stop here, and the SX9 operated by Stagecoach. The west coast train line has stops at Corckikle and Whithaven both of which are about 5 miles away.
