Unique traditional house dating from 1700

Charming and cozy traditional house located in the heart of the medieval village Kastro, one of the most picturesque destinations of Sifnos. Our house dates back to at least 1700 and it is built in a huge rock, part of which can still be seen today. It is full of character, as it combines the traditional Venetian architecture (thick walls, stone floors and magnificent arches) with everything our guests need for a relaxing and comfortable stay. The house has a living room, a bathroom with shower and a fully equipped kitchen with all the essentials to make you feel at home. It has 2 comfortable single beds plus one sofa-bed and it can accommodate up to 3 adults or 2 adults and a child. We offer: Wi-Fi, TV, air-conditioning, washing machine, bathroom essentials, hot water, clean towels and bed linen, kitchen facilities, coffee, tea and traditional treats. Our house is located in the heart of the medieval village Kastro, right next to the archaeological museum. Kastro is built on a rock at the eastern coast of the island and was its capital from antiquity until 1836. It is a characteristic medieval fortified settlement of the Aegean, where the walls of the houses are part of the fortified perimeter. The name “Kastro” means “castle” and the village still maintains the characteristics of the Venetian fortress that used to be. In fact, it’s like an open-air museum, with ancient walls and ruins scattered throughout the village. Kastro offers magnificent panoramic view to the Aegean Sea and the nearby islands. You can also enjoy the view of Eftamartyros, a beautiful church built on a small rock. In walking distance you can find the picturesque beach of Seralia and the rocky beach beneath Eftamartyros church, both with crystal blue waters perfect for swimming. In Kastro you will find coffee shops, traditional restaurants, a mini-market and a bakery. We will welcome you in a relaxed atmosphere so that you will feel totally at home. We live nearby and we are always available at all times to offer advice on the local area, restaurants and places of interest. Nevertheless, the house is completely independent and we fully respect the privacy of our guests.
