Paris 40km/28 miles (1 hour to 1 hour and half) Roissy Charles-de-Gaulle airport (CDG) 17km/10 miles (20 min) Disneyland Paris à 22km/14 miles (30 minutes, this road has no traffic!) Parc Astérix à 32km/20 miles (35 min) Parc des expositions de Villepinte à 24km/15 miles (25 min) Stade de France à 38km/24 miles (35min) Ermenonville et sa Mer de Sable 7km/5 miles (18 min) Jabline's leisure water sports centre 15km/9 miles (17 min) Banks of the Marne à 10km/6 miles (11mn) Attention, on average, you have to count 1 hour to 1 and a half hour to reach Paris depending on where, when and how you go there. Paris is 40km/25miles away by car, approximatly 1 hour on average, but there’s often tyraffic jam, and few places to park in the city. You can avoid the disaventages of driving in Paris two ways: Taking the train in Mitry-Claye station (RER B) which has a big free parking space and is 20 within minutes driving. This train serves Paris from north to south, going directly to : Gare du Nord (Canal Saint-Martin's banks, Indian town...), Chatelet les Halles (Centre Beaubourg/Pompidou, Louvre, Marais neighborhood...), Saint Michel Notre Dame (Historical center of Paris, Notre-Dame's cathedral, Saint-Jacque's tower, Holly Chapel…), Luxembourg (Luxembourg's gardens, la Sorbonne's neighborhood, « Arènes de Lutèce », « Jardin des plantes »...), Port-Royal (Observatory, Montparnasse's Britanny neighborhood), Denfert-Rochereau (Catacombes...), Cité universitaire (Monsouris’s garden...). This line is one of the best to access Paris. You have to count 20min to drive to the station, 10 min to park and between 21 and 33min depending on the train to reach Paris Gare du Nord. Other option: via Meaux’s train station. It’s 15 minutes driving and there’s a parking lot there (not free). The trains are only going to Gare de l’Est in Paris, you have to count between 25 and 45 minutes depending on the train. For food lovers : there's a very cute and typicall market 21km/13 miles driving (30min) on wenesday, friday and sunday mornings. You also have several farms who sells their products and other from the area (cheeses, beers, meats, sweets...) and fruits, vegetables and flowers picking farms. You could taste between other things the specialties made with red poppy flower or some Brie (of Meaux, Melun... we have 13 different ones). For nature's addicts, we have a lot of walks around here : forests, Marne's river banks, kayaking, rowing, swiming in the lake of Jabline... For cultural sights that are less known from tourists : Pierrefonds, Senlis and Chantilly ar all within 45 minutes driving. You'll ABSOLUTELY need a car to come to stay with us : countryside has its good sides and well, public transports are not one of them ! The nearest station is 10 min driving, but the one which is 20 min away is better served and has a large free parking space. We'll ask you to follow certain rules though: emptying refrigirator and garbages when leaving, leaving curtains open during day time (for the sake of our plants!) and of course to have a limited sound level for our neighbors ;)
