Very cute and cosy, 2 storey cottage with natural, bush outlook. An ideal location for a quiet, relaxed escape from the chaos of the world. Find your peace and relax... Private, secluded, peaceful and relaxing - a perfect island hideaway so close to Brisbane. Includes NBN/internet and Netflix. Enjoy a cool drink on the balcony listening to the choir of cicadas while the kookaburras, cockatoos and butcher birds play around in the nearby gum trees. This is a true island hideaway - a place to escape to. I am a photographer and spend the bulk of my time sailing the Queensland coast gathering new imagery for my libraries. Your stay will be a little like staying in my own private gallery, and I'm sure you'll like it. There's also a small foldaway cot available for the little nippers, along with a double, inflatable bed for your guests. Comes complete with internet, Netflix, room to move. A complete and comfortable island hideaway 30 minutes from Brisbane. Guests enjoy the freedom and privacy of the whole house which includes plenty of room for your vehicle. While we will endeavour to be available at any time during your stay, there will be times when we may just be on a remote island on the Great Barrier Reef and out of range. During these times we will ensure there will always be somebody to take your call or enquiry and respond as quickly as possible. We also have a property manager/maintenance person here on the island. Russell Island has a quiet, island atmosphere that you'll thoroughly enjoy. Just a short drive from here you can enjoy a coffee in the small village township. There's a boat ramp just 250 metres from us and there's also plenty of walking trails through the reserves on the island. Plenty to do for a chilled, laid back break from the madding crowd. You can bring you own car with you aboard one of the Stradbroke Island Car Ferries (approximately a 1 hour trip) or, if you prefer, you can come to the island by passenger ferry (30 minute trip). There's a maxi cab that scoots around the island most of the day and night, so getting around on the island isn't too hard. You may even like to jump on one of the regular ferries to take a free ride (free travel within the islands) to Lamb or Macleay Island for a coffee or meal. Bringing your car. You can bring your car to the island. The car ferry runs regularly throughout the day and takes about 1 hour and leaves from Redland Bay. Search for Stradbroke Ferries for details, timetables and costs. (FYI. You’ll be travelling to/from Southern Moreton Bay Islands.) Passenger ferry. There are also regular passenger ferries travelling to and from the island. Costs are around $6 and takes about 30 minutes. You can also travel between Russell, Lamb, Macleay and Karragarra Islands for free on the passenger ferry. Macleay is a nice place to visit for a meal or coffee. Taxis There are also taxis on the island.
