A cosy retreat in the remarkable Isle of Purbeck
Little Oddity Annex is bright and cosy accommodating two guests. Until recently,It was part of our cottage next door and is believed to have been built with stone from the Castle ruins It is now a separate self- contained unit with its own entrance. There is a small patio area outside the annex door with garden furniture and a barbecue for guests to use. Parking for one car is off road next to the annex It is a short walk to Corfe village, the Castle ruins, Church, shops and Steam railway The annex has a bed-sitting room with a 5ft bed , comfortable furniture, table, chairs, chest of drawers, curtained hanging space for clothes. TV etc. There is a kitchenette with sink unit, microwave and fridge, single electric hob, kettle and toaster. Also , plates, cups , cutlery saucepan, frying pan etc. shelves and cupboard.Also,a shower room with wash-basin , shower and toilet. Due to Coronavirus, we’re taking extra care to disinfect frequently touched surfaces between reservations. H There is a table with two chairs on the small patio, outside the annex door. Also a small barbecue. Guests may sit on the main lawn by request. We permanently occupy the cottage next door so we are available to deal with any problems should they occur. We are always happy to help or give advice should it be needed There is a short walk down through the fields to the centre of Corfe Castle village. Views of the Castle, Church and the surrounding Purbeck hills are beautiful. The Castle is a must to visit and the views are spectacular. The village has cafes, gift shops, a bakery for fresh bread every day and an award winning general stores and post office. There are also 4 pubs, all quite different and very popular.The model village has a lovely coffee shop and you can stroll around the little“model village“ in the grounds. National Trust shop. The steam train and buses leave the village at regular intervals for the seaside town of Swanage and the market town of Wareham which is-by the river and has a market every Saturday. Other popular beaches are Studland, Kimmeridge Swanage, Tyneham, and Lulworth. There are many beautiful coastal walks and the World Heritage Jurassic coast to explore. The Blue pool nearby is a well known beauty spot. I Good pub across the road with lovely garden. They serve very good meals. Short walk to village for 3 other pubs who serve excellent snacks and meals. There are also coffee shops. gift shops, a small museum and a model village. Our village food store and shop is (Website hidden by Airbnb) is also a post office. Entrance to the Castle is just off the village square. The steam train runs regularly to Swanage which is a busy little town with a lovely beach. Evening dinner is served on the train during some evenings. The bus stop for Bournemouth, Poole , Wareham ,Swanage and Studland is just outside the cottage. There are two Golf Clubs in the area. One is the Isle Of Purbeck Golf Club in Studland and the other is The Wareham Golf Club
