Welcome to Miss Bundy's charming 1920 American Foursquare home. This house is situated on a residential street, less than ten minutes from shopping, restaurants, hospitals, the waterfront, ECSU and the US Coast Guard Base. In your 11' x 13' room, you will find a double/full-sized bed with a medium firm mattress, 100% cotton sheets, down pillows and duvet. Also in the room: plenty of closet space, reading lamp, desk and chair and black-out curtains. From the 1920s to the 1980s, this home was owned by Miss Bundy, a kind, Southern Belle, famous for her sweet tea and tending her sumptuous old roses. The kitchen and bathrooms were updated in 2008, but the rest of the house has a vintage feel. The rooms are generous and open, with hardwood floors throughout. You will be sharing the space with me and other airbnb guests or travel nurses. There is a locked door that connects your room with the afjacent one. We respect privacy in our house. If your door is closed, no one will enter your room unless we are invited. You are welcome to enjoy the kitchen, living and dining rooms, as well as the outside space. The upstairs bathroom will be almost exclusively for your convenience. You may use the fridge, the washer and dryer. Cooking implements, spices, oils, etc are available. I am seldom on-site, but would love to meet you if I am home. Our house is one of three on a residential street. We are one block off Chruch Street, twelve blocks from downtown Elizabeth City and the Pasquotank River waterfront. Downtown Elizabeth City has a great restaurant called Hoppin' Johnz and an excellent micro brewery, Ghost Harbor Brewing Company. Local hospitals, shopping, Elizabeth City State University, the Museum of the Albermarle, the US Coast Guard Base and The Dismal Swamp are all within close proximity. Elizabeth City is very low-key. There isn't public transportation: we do have taxis. The closest airports are Newport News or Norfolk, VA. The house is 45 minutes from Chesapeake and Norfolk, VA, one hour from Williamsburg, VA and Virginia Beach, a little over an hour from The Outer Banks and the beaches. You can park on the street directly in front of the house. Additional clean towels and linens are available. We have high-speed internet. We do not have television.
