Saporium - urban marketplace. • Archie Rose Distillery (12pm-10pm everyday). • Black Star Pastry - great coffee, famous for their watermelon cake. • Messina Gelato - the finest gelato in all of New South Wales with a generous portion of unlimited tasting samples. • Bourke St Bakery or Sonoma Bakery - excellent coffee and fresh breads. • Belfield on Botany - excellent burgers, friendly staff and music! • Turruwull park - free fitness equipment. • Hong Ha Bakery - join the queue for the best pork roll in New South Wales. • Ultimate Pilates studio - drop-in classes available. • Yoga studios. • Mascot Shopping strip - supermarkets, international food shops, fruit & vegetable shops, bakeries. • IGA supermarket. • Subway. • Grandma's Little Bakery - great coffee and a good selection of shakshuka. • Da Mario - authentic Italian restaurant with superb tiramisu. • Fish-A-Licious - great spot for fastfood seafood. • Clubhouse Rosebery - the best Bloody Mary in the area. • Bunnings Hardware store. • many other restaurants and pizzerias. Walk 20 minutes for: • Skyzone Trampoline Park - great for tiring out the kids. • Rocks Brewing Co - excellent selection of beers, live music, outdoor area, a decent food menu (their home-made nuts are delicious). • 9 Degrees Boulder - an indoor climbing gym (9am-10pm everyday, day-pass costs $19.80). • UFC Gym. • 24 hour gyms with pool and sauna. • OfficeWorks - ideal for stationery/office/electronic accessories such as chargers and converters. BUS: • Botany Road- 5min walk to the bus stop with regular services to the city (bus route 309, 310, approx 25min trip). • Gardeners Road – 5min walk with Services to Bondi Junction (bus route 418, 30min bus trip). City service through Rosebery, Waterloo Redfern and Surry Hills bus route 343 30mins bus trip • 10 min walk to the bus stop with services to Domestic Airport and International Airport (bus route 400). • 10min walk to the bus stop with services to Coogee, North Sydney, Newtown, Leichhardt, Chatswood. TRAIN: Mascot train station is 15 mins by foot. Mascot station is two stops from Sydney International Airport, one stop from Sydney Domestic Airport and two stops from Sydney Central station. The train route makes a full loop around the city circle train stations. I do not recommend taking the train to or from either airport station because the airport fee is monstrous (approx fare is $16 one-way). UBER/TAXI: • To the city - 10mins via the motorway. • To the beach - 15mins. • To Domestic Airport – 5-10 mins outside of peak hour traffic. • To International Airport – 10-15 mins outside of peak hour traffic. FOOT: • 25min walk to Domestic Airport (mostly flat, mostly one straight road). • 50min walk to the city (mostly flat, mostly one straight road). Breakfast: There are a few good breakfast spots within walking distance: • Two Fives Cafe (2mins walk). • Black Star Pastry: Sweet & savoury bakery with good options (10mins walk). • Three Blue Ducks: Nice food but not cheap (10mins walk). • Sonoma Cafe: bakery (10mins walk). • Bourke St Bakery (10-15mins walk). • Saporium: Urban marketplace with several breakfast options (10mins walk). • 5th Earl: Good service, delicious food. Queuing for a table is common (10mins walk). • Grandma's at Rosebery: Shakshuka (15mins walk). • Mi Mamasita: mexican, great breakfast (15mins walk).
