Within easy reach of the historic towns of Buxton and Bakewell, Lavender Cottage is perfectly situated for the many attractions of the Peak District and provides the ideal base for walking, cycling or simple relaxing in the spectacular surroundings. Traditional village pub serving home cooked food and real ale...only fifteen minutes walk . At the rear of the property is a back garden and patio area with table and chairs with barbecue available. Chelmorton is not only the highest village in Derbyshire but has the highest church and pub in the county of Derbyshire. Chelmorton was built along the banks of a little stream that was known as Illy Willy Water, it provided a constant supply of pure water for the village. It came out of the hill just above the church, ran down what became the village street and slipped away into a swallet hole. Towns such as Matlock Bath and Castleton are only 30 minutes away which offer attractions such as Gullivers Kingdom (for the kids) and The Heights of Abraham Cable car and Cavern, as well as Blue John Mine and other caves. Chelmorton is about 7 miles from Bakewell, 4.5 miles from Buxton and 4 miles from Tideswell. The Monsal Trail starts only 3 miles away at Blackwell Mill, and the Tissington Trail, High Peak Trail and Manifold Track are less than 10 minutes drive away. The bus stop is 5 minutes walk which runs from Derby to Buxton and stops include Matlock Bath and Bakewell. The property has a SMART Internet TV in the living room with Apps available such as Amazon Prime and Netflix. All bedrooms also have a Freeview or FreeSat TV.
