The house is located in the heart of the medieval village of Kastro, one of the most picturesque areas of Sifnos. Kastro is one of the most picturesque, fascinating, mysterious and the most important village of the island from an archeological point of view on Sifnos. The village took its name from the "castle" which is formed by its buildings. Entering at Kastro and following the main path to the left you will eventually come out at the Aegean sea with a stunning view of the coast and the nearest islands. Having the Aegean sea below you, and leaving the ancient walls and the ruins of the Venetian fortress above you, you will be able to admire the Church of the Seven Martyrs that sits above one of the finest spots for snorkeling on the island. Nearby you can also enjoy the pebble beach called Seralia. If you like walking you can also reach from Kastro the beach of Poulati with its crystal blue waters. In Kastro you can find 2 groceries, bakery, restaurants and enjoy a you coffee or a drink at Konaki, Dolci or a cocktail at the Cavos Sunrise bar. The house is distant 200m walking from the bus stop in Kastro. You will arrive in Sifnos through Kamares port from where you can reach Kastro by using public bus which has regular connections or by taxi. 1. Taxi Taxi from Kamares port takes about 15-20 minutes to bring you in Kastro. In rush time period during summer it is preferable to arrange a taxi booking at least one or two days prior to your arrival on the island so that you can be picked up directly upon the arrival of your ferry. If you give me corresponding notice I can arrange a taxi waiting for your ferry’s arrival at the port. 2. Bus There are regular bus connections between Kamares and Apolonia from where you can continue by bus to Kastro. 3. Bike & car rental Most of rental agencies are located in Kamares. During house’s rental period my son Stavros will be living in Kastro close to the house, so that he will usually welcome you personally, to give you the keys, show you the house and provide tips about Kastro and Sifnos. As he will be living close by, he can help with anything that may come up. Besides that you can enjoy your stay with full privacy and quiet.
