Peaceful Cottage at Blue Bonnet Farm

This beautiful 2 bedroom cottage, a converted piggery, is newly renovated with modern kitchen and bathroom and all modern amenities, but still retains so much charm and character, including stone walls and beautiful exposed beams. The property is detached (standalone) and for your exclusive use, with the added benefit of private outdoor spaces. We look forward to welcoming you in our little haven on Blue Bonnet Farm, amongst the rolling hills of the beautiful Limousin The front door opens to a large open plan kitchen and living room, with two large comfortable sofas (including one double sofa bed), large T.V, and fully operational log fire/wood burner (we provide the logs from our nearby woods free of charge in winter - for the summer months (May-Sept) we will still provide a few starter logs in case you need them). The kitchen has all of the modern equipment and appliances you would expect, including dishwasher, washing machine, fridge freezer, oven and hob, and a useful island/breakfast bar. From the living room you can turn right to a large double bedroom, and left to another large double bedroom and spacious modern bathroom with large shower. Fully accessible - all on one level, with only one step to one of the bedrooms and bathroom. The shower is a "wet room" style so very comfortable for those with limited mobility. The private outside space is a real sun trap! It has new decking, comfortable furniture (which we put out in summer) and a step free access from the kitchen/living room (and a few steps down to your private garden, which is also possible to access without steps). There is a large private garden for your exclusive use at the rear of the property, and a smaller private garden at the front. In addition, the property is set on large grounds (gardens and fields) owned by the hosts, which are fully available to you during your stay. We would also be very happy to introduce you to our beautiful horses, goats, dogs, cats and chickens which will be sure to keep you entertained :-) (Please note: this is a working farm so although we will of course respect your privacy you will likely see us walking around the farm taking care of the animals. Our dogs are very friendly and not at all aggressive, and will not be permitted into your private accommodation or private terrace - any concerns please let us know) You have exclusive access of the cottage and it's private outdoor space (front garden, rear garden and decking area). You also have access to the rest of the farm (shared with us) and we would be very happy to introduce you to the animals! There is also a forest behind the farm perfect for walking. Me and my husband are English speaking (with a little French also!) and live next door to the property, in the large farmhouse. We will be around during your stay should you need anything at all. However, we really value privacy when we travel so will be sure to remain discrete and leave you to yourself unless we hear from you! Our favourite thing about our home is the peaceful location - it is nestled amongst the beautiful Limousin countryside, and is completely private and very quiet as a result. There are local forests for walking but we do recommend having a car when visiting as it is a drive to the nearest villages and towns. The nearest full size supermarket is 15 min drive, but the beautiful villages of Lubesac and Coussac-Bonneval are nearby and have tabacs, bakeries, cafes, ATMs etc. The Limousin region is just bursting with culture and history - incuding our nearby Chateau de Coussac which is open to the public. In addition, we are based along the "Richard the Lionheart" trail. We would be happy to provide you with recommendations of places to visit during your stay. One of the main attractions to this region are the beautiful lakes and rivers, which are very popular for fishing. In the summer you can even rent kayaks along the rivers and enjoy sunbathing on the man-made “beaches”. Most of these lakes are fully accessible to the public, and one particularly beautiful private one is owned by our friends, who would be very happy to grant you access for a small charge. We also have popular golf courses nearby - please let us know if you would like any further information. We recommend having a car as Blue Bonnet Farm is quite remote. We are about 45 minutes drive to Limoges airport, where you can hire a car.
