We are very close to the interstate and an easy drive from the Madison airport. East side of Madison is just a short drive (10 - 15 min depending on location). Some renters have stayed with us that were going to the University, but for others it was a little far. It's about 30-45 min drive to the University depending on traffic and time of the day. THERE IS NO BUS SERVICE. There are some routes you can take which help with the drive. If you have any questions please just ask. Thank you! We have a 3 bedroom ranch home in a quiet subdivision just outside of DeForest, WI and minutes from Madison, WI and local attractions. Note that I have the price listed for one person. Each additional person is $10 more per night. If you put in your dates and how many people the site will figure out your total. It best fits up to 2 people. Before you book your reservation please fill out your profile and send me an inquiry message to confirm dates and we can make sure we are a good suit for one another. Our home is best suited for mature traveler(s) who are here for business or exploring Madison and surroundings. If you wish to party hard, it's best to find another location or try couch surfing. Note we do have a key pad for self checkin, but try to be home when you first arrive to introduce you to the dogs and show you around. Outdoor patio with table and chairs, internet, tv with local tv stations, dvd player, and roku with Netflix in spare bedroom, plus closet and dresser space in your queen bedroom. Tv is also in the living with Amazon Prime and Netflix. Private bathroom is located just across the hallway for your use. We have a full kitchen and will make room for you in the fridge. Basement is unfinished and is a work in progress. We are trying to get it organized again, but features a treadmill, dvd player w/ tv (local channels, amazon, netflix) and a couch. Basement is not heated, which is nice in summer as it is cool down there, but a bit chilly (50s Fahrenheit) in winter. Fresh towels and linens are provided. Just let me know in advance where you expect to sleep and the number of people and I'll have them all ready for you on your arrival. I do ask you to pull all linens off the sleeping areas before you leave if you could please. Additionally, a full Maytag front loading washer and dryer are located in the mud room between the garage door and the kitchen if you would need to do an laundry while here. Walking and biking trails nearby. I like to keep a clean home and prefer you bring no pets. We have a two very friendly larger dogs. There is street parking and it's alternate side parking in winter, but any other time either side of the street is allowed. Also, there is some room in the basement if you have a few things to store, just ask. I ask that you leave things as you found them, clean up after yourself and smoking is not permitted on the property. I have off street parking available. It can be tight at times depending on what we have in the driveway and when people are coming and going, but typically we can work that out. There is also street parking which is free and always empty. During the winter months it's alternate side parking Nov - Mar I believe. A nearby local bakery is within walking distance for baked items and coffee as well as a local post office. A very nice large county park is a short 5 min drive and a local fireman's park with baseball diamonds is a short walk. Grocery store is about 5 min away as well. Public transportation is not available here. You will have to check out these places on the net or ask me. This website doesn't let me post links. East Towne Mall, Madison, Wi and many food chains are a short 10-15 min drive. There is a good Mexican place (5 min away): Aranda's Mexican Restaurant, DeForest, WI Good pies and American food. 5 min away: Norske Nook, DeForest, WI Italian place (pizza / pasta) very close 3 min way: Papinos, DeForest, WI Food, Pizza and Beer (10 to 15 min drive): Lazy Oaf Lounge, Madison, WI.
