Noss Mayo Yurt, meadow glamping with rural view
Located in beautiful Tamar Valley on the Cornwall / Devon board, this spacious 'off grid' yurt is set in a traditional gently sloping meadow is in a rural location overlooking the river and a Nature Reserve. Inside each there's a king sized double bed. Outside relax in rustic seating around a fire pit and just star gaze. A modern shared bathroom is conveniently located a short walk away. As is a shared rustic field kitchen with under cover cooking / dining facilities. Set in over 40 acres of grounds there is plenty of space to explore including River Tamar frontage with a private shingle tidal beach, woodland, Salt Marsh Nature Reserve and orchard with a tennis court (a selection of rackets and balls are available) if you are feeling active! There is also a games room with table tennis and a selection of board games / jigsaws / books / magazines that you can borrow. The farm is in a rural location and managed for wildlife and the place buzzes with birds, deer, badgers and more. Access to the river where you can wild swim (tide dependant!) or just sit and watch the birds live. Options for walks from your door and further afield (Bodmin Moor, Dartmoor and South Coastal Path are all within 20 - 30 minutes drive away). If you do feel like leaving the farm, there are good pubs and restaurants nearby, beaches, off road cycling paths and plenty of other activities. There is a second yurt in the meadow which is set a good distance apart and a third yurt set in an adjacent meadow. Internal lighting is solar powered on a rechargeable battery. This also allows the recharging of a phone / tablet as well on all but the cloudiest of days! The Boot room and Games room have plenty of power sockets for charging devices if needed. To keep the yurt warm and cosy there is a log burner. However, as this is a fully insulated yurt it retains heat well overnight. We provide a trug of logs for your stay, with additional available from the honesty shop. There is a small honesty shop for fresh eggs from our ducks and chickens, apple juice from our orchard. We also normally have some veg grown sustainably at the farm available. There are a number of bookable experiences and treats here at Lower Marsh Farm including private wild food foraging workshops, stand-up paddle board tuition, afternoon tea, suppers and more. From '22 the bathroom and field will be shared with 2 other yurts (which also sleep 2 people each). We live at the farm and so are able to help if required. You will need a car as there is no public transport to the village. There are steep uneven steps between the bathroom and utility room (where fresh water and washing up facilities are located) and the meadow where the yurt is located. Some lighting is present on the route but you should bring a torch. We can help carry your luggage up to the yurt on arrival and departure if needed. The will be other guests at the farm as there are also 3 holiday lets.
