Beautiful character cottage set on the outskirts of The Dartmoor National Park. A peaceful, secluded hideaway with period features throughout, this tasteful conversion provides all the comfort and style for a truly unique holiday experience. The Old Stables is our sister property to our other Buckfastleigh holiday home, River Garden Cottage. Tucked away at the end of a quiet courtyard within the moorland town of Buckfastleigh, a unique and peaceful 18th Century former Stables and Tucking Loft. Immediately upon entering the property, you arrive in the glass roofed Orangery - a beautiful, bright room where you can enjoy a drink or read a book surrounded by fruit trees and flowering plants. This leads directly into an open and character filled lounge with revealed wood beams and wood burner offering a relaxing, cosy environment. In one corner sits a baby grand piano which can be played to ones hearts content. There is a full package of entertainment available with our 48" Curved Ultra HD Samsung Flatscreen TV, including the full SKY package (inc. Movies, Sports, Documentaries) plus BT Sports. With 4K Blueray, Wifi and a selection of DVD's & Books mean there is always something to do even if the weather is against you. Open plan lounge-diner leads into the bespoke, country cottage kitchen with terracotta floor tiles. A rear door leads to a secluded, stone-walled courtyard with patio table & chairs for long summer evenings outdoors. The Chapel Room downstairs leads from the lounge area and accommodates couples or 2 singles. With wood beams and stone walls, this room has some unique features including circular window, granite post and Suffolk latch doors. Up the open staircase leading onto a 1st floor landing, the family bathroom benefits from luxury full hydrotherapy bath with spa jets, lighting and shower wand. Feature walls and beams, again make this a bathroom to spend time in. From the landing, the large master bedroom opens up to reveal the heritage of the Old Stables. Twisted oak beams, vaulted ceilings and complimentary antique furniture make for a truly romantic experience. Can always be contacted by email or phone Travelling south on the A38 from Exeter, turn off at the junction to the A384 signposted to Buckfastleigh. Turn right, and pass over the dual-carriageway until you reach a mini roundabout. Turn right at the roundabout onto Buckfast Road. Continue until you reach another mini roundabout. Turn left and head up the hill past the entrance to Buckfast Abbey carpark. Follow the road on up the hill and straight over the crossroads at the of crest of the hill and head down towards the town. After passing the first few houses on your right, turn right into Church Street. Continue past The Sun Inn on your left and as road gently starts to rise it becomes Market Street. A little further on, just beyond the narrowest point in the street you will see a large grey gate on your left. This is approximately 25 meters before the road veers to the left. You may pull up by the gateway to unload. Open the grey gate and walk down to the very end. Peek round the corner to the left and you will see the entrance to The Old Stables. As you look at the front door, the key box is to your left. No pets allowed in the property
