RipTrip Andro Community Tourism - Earthen Hut 1
The Traditional Bamboo huts are located inside a complex on the hill side and offer ample light and ventilation & open space. Its a couplet of two huts with an attached bath and ample open area. This hut is one of them. There is a fireplace on one side of the hut. A well arranged clearing where 8-10 people can sit and have fun/cook etc. There's a common shack with an open kitchen for cooking/ BBQ/Bonfire. Toilets are outside. There is running tap water and a pond with Lotus and lilies nearby. The entire hill side comes with the property and is included. The entire surrounding can be lighted up at night. There is a kitchen garden with onions, a variety of chives, Wild coriander,mustard, Mint and Garlic. In the surrounding you will find multiple jack fruit, Gooseberry, Mango and Guava trees among others. There around 20+ variety of rare and medicinal herbs growing in the surroundings that are foraged for curated meals. Cooking is done live on firewood stoves. Mineral water is also included. Running tap water is available. The closest house is on the hillside opposite to it. The hut is part of a community based tourism complex. Availability is as per the requirements of our guests. The Guests can choose to have a full day guide support or choose to enjoy their stay with minimal (Website hidden by Airbnb) all possible at Andro. Senthei Natural park, Panam Ningthou Garden, Several Campsites, Andro Bazaar... The Sky shack,Creeks and streams, Several trails for trekking make this place a heaven for the outback lover.You can practically trek through the hill range to Myanmar from here. Takes only about 4 days. The area is unexplored till date and offers a true outback experience. You'd be living in a sparsely populated settlement of indigenous people (on the foothills of the Nongmaiching hill range) with a 1200 year old history and practicing the Sanamahi culture. The community is regarded as the protector of Sanamahi beliefs and traditions and are celebrated in the entire state. you will officially be their guest and get to participate to the extent you want. Only a two hour drive from the Imphal international Airport along the Indo-Thailand international highway. Myanmar border and the Indo-Myanmar Friendship market in Moreh are just 5 hours drive. The distance isn't much but its a mountain drive all along. The Baths are attached and have a wash basin, Shower and running Tap water. heated water is available as well. Sun sets by 5:00 PM and Rises early here. It's the far east. The entire surrounding is yours to explore. Bonfires are a routine and all cooking is done by community hosts on wood fire in the traditional way. The village is a live example of sustainable living. Its an ancient settlement with age old traditions that have despite visible influences survived the test of time. Community's way of life teaches us a thing or two about sustainable living. Firewood is harvested in a manner that has managed to keep the forest cover intact. Population is dispersed and pollution non existent. Settlers here are expert brewers and their brews are fondly referred to as Andromycin across the state. you can walk into any house and they'll welcome you with warmth that melts the heart.
