Windmill Gite 1

Our property is in a beautiful part of France. We are in a peaceful rural setting but only a 5 minute drive from the town of St Savinien with bars, restaurants and art galleries. The studio Gite is the perfect place to relax and explore the area. We have a swimming pool and terrace which guests are welcome to use. Guests have full use of the extensive garden. We have two small friendly dogs. Small dogs welcome (under 10kgs) Guests have sole use of the studio Gite/apartment. There is outdoor seating space outside their own front door but guests are welcome to make use of the extensive outdoor space (almost 3 of land) and the pool and terrace. There is adequate parking space. This is our home and we will available throughout your stay for assistance. The Charente Maritime has the highest temperatures (second only to the south of France) and has the highest average hours of sunshine each year. The historic towns of Saintes and Cognac are within 30 minutes drive and the beautiful Atlantic beaches can be reached within an hours drive. St Savinien is on the river Charente and fishing permits are easily obtained. The area has a number of golf courses in the area - Saintes, Royan and La Rochelle are the closest. St Savinien is a beautiful town with a number of art galleries. The narrow, quaint streets around the church are well worth a stroll. Small motor boats are available for hire on the river - perfect for exploring the next towns of Taillebourg and Port D'Envaux. St Savinien has a train station with regular services to La Rochelle and Bordeau. Cognac, Saintes and the Atlantic beach resorts are all within easy reach.
