Double room in comfy and cosy house in Cwmbran
Perfectly located house close to Cwmbran town centre that can accommodate 2 guests in a comfortable double bed in a clean and fresh room. Close to the M4. Welcome to my home and I hope the following gives you an idea of what you’re going to book? The House: I live in a 2 bedroomed house and you will have use of my second bedroom that is clean and light with a new comfortable double bed. Downstairs there is a cosy yet bright living room which we will share and there is a TV with terrestrial TV plus Netflix & Amazon Prime....I’ll even let you have charge of the remote control :-) There is also a small stereo unit for entertainment plus Alexa devices throughout the house. There is a downstairs toilet (to save that dash upstairs!). Upstairs are the 2 bedrooms (yours and mine) and a bathroom – well actually a shower room with a good sized shower cubicle. In your room I will leave a towel to save you having to pack one as they take up so much room, some toiletries if you’ve forgotten anything, a hairdryer plus there is a small / medium sized wall mirror for that last minute check on how gorgeous you are! There is hanging space available either in a built-in wardrobe or on the doors if you just need to ‘grab & go’, plus you will also have the use of a number of drawers in the tall set of drawers to put your bits & pieces. There is a desk and chair in the room should you need a workstation. You will also find a folder with information leaflets about things to do in the local areas (and some things a bit further afield). Outside is a patio area with table and chairs plus a parasol for those hot summer days (as the back garden is south-facing and gets lots of sun). I occasionally fire up the chimenea on chilly summer evenings when it’s too nice to be inside – just make sure you don’t sit too close to it or it’ll warm your wine or beer up! Location: The house is conveniently situated very close to Cwmbran town centre and you can easily walk there in just 5 minutes where you will find a good range of shops and most of the town is under cover. If you need to drive to the town it will take you about 2-3 minutes to do so and it is all free parking. There are 3 supermarkets within close walking proximity with one of them being open 24 hours should you have forgotten anything. In town is the main bus station (although there is a bus stop just 3 minutes’ walk from the house) with regular services to Newport (10 - 15 minute journey), Cardiff (approx. 30 minutes) and to other towns in South Wales. The railway station is a 15 minute walk from the house (or less than 5 minutes if you take your car and there is free parking at the station). ‘Downline’ is Newport (approx. 10 minutes) and Cardiff (approx. 20 minutes). It goes on to West Wales if you fancy a day out. The train line also goes ‘Upline’ to Manchester and calls at various historic towns / cities along the way. Cwmbran is conveniently situated for jumping on to the M4 and you can drive to Cardiff in under 30 minutes or Bristol in about 40 minutes. Other things to see or do in or around the Cwmbran area are: •Roman Amphitheatre and museum in Caerleon (just 15 minutes away). •Tredegar House & Duffryn Gardens in Newport (approx. 20 minutes away) •Heritage Railway in Blaenavon (approx. 15 minutes away) •Big Pit and the Iron Works in Blaenavon (Heritage site) •Landegfedd reservoir with walks and water sports available (approx. 10 minute drive) •Cwmcarn Forest Drive and Cwmcarn Mountain Bike Centre (less than 30 minutes’ drive) •Lots of castles…well this is Wales after all!! •A visit to Cardiff is a must as it’s a lovely friendly capital city where you will find museums; castle; the Principality rugby stadium; Cardiff Bay and loads more Parking I live in a cul-de-sac so parking can on occasions be tight but there is safe on-street parking. Miscellaneous: If you can’t get about to do some sightseeing as you are staying on business I’m sure you’ll be back at some point to discover what’s in the area. My house rules are fairly simple – no smoking in the house + no shoes / food / drink in the carpeted areas. The most important thing however is…..relax and enjoy yourself! I really hope you enjoy your stay with me and I’m looking forward to meeting you. Carole We will share the living area, kitchen, bathroom and outdoor spaces Being a more mature host I’m comfortable with meeting new people so hopefully I will be able to put you at your ease. Close to town centre and amenities. I live in a 2 bedroomed mid-link house.
