Tudor House

Situated on the tree-lined private driveway of owner's working farm, this attractive Tudor style holiday property is perfect for families and large groups, with two living rooms and a patio area for relaxation. An ideal base from which to explore the many attractions that Yorkshire has to offer. Visit Hull, the UK City of Culture, 2017, the historic walled city of York or cosmopolitan Leeds. Alternatively, head off to the fabulous coastal towns of Bridlington, Scarborough or Whitby. The whole cottage with fully enclosed garden and ample space to park several vehicles on private gravelled area. We live on the farm, just down the driveway from the cottages and are there most of the time should our guests need anything. We are also available at all times by phone. Portington is a beautiful, peaceful hamlet with lots of lovely rural walks full of birdsong and other wildlife. Skylarks sing and deer roam in the fields surrounding the two cottages. The cottages are at the end of a tree lined driveway to a fully working farm. Guests enjoy watching the combine during harvest time or the plough turning over the land followed by hundreds of hungry seagulls, and drilling or baling of the straw. The friendly local pub is a 15 minute walk where you can enjoy a drink and lovely meal. Alternatively, get away easily by car or rail to the historic city of York, cosmopolitan city of Leeds, Hull, the 2017 city of culture or enjoy the seaside towns of Hornsea, Bridlington, Scarborough or Whitby (including the beautiful North Yorkshire Moors). Tudor House is an ideal location for walkers and cyclists to experience the peaceful countryside filled with wildlife. The terrain is very flat and has lots of rural areas to explore. On the other hand a short 10 minute drive to the M62 motorway and a 15-20 minute walk to Eastrington train station, which gives easy access to the nearby cities of York, Leeds, Hull and Sheffield or to the extensive, beautiful East Yorkshire coastline, including Hornsea, Bridlington, Scarborough and Whitby.
