Tucked away at the base of the Blue Ridge Mountains, the Tree House welcomes you to Healing Springs. Our Tree House is a "glamping" cabin tucked up in the trees along a babbling brook. The Healing Spring was discovered in 1884, come and drink the water! Our Tree House is a camping cabin perched upon locust tree poles. This rustic retreat was built with reclaimed lumber from an local homestead that was over 100 years old! It does not have electricity or an en-suite bathroom. It has a plush Queen size bed and comes complete with sheets, pillows, blankets and bath towels. It does have A/C via an external power source and propane heat for the colder months. The Tree House Cabin is a true "glamping" experience. You have access to an indoor bathhouse located close by that features a sink, shower (hot water!) , and flush toilet. There is a charcoal BBQ and Adirondack chairs set at the base of this cabin. You have the entire tree house to yourselves, with a shared bathhouse nearby. I live on the property and am available if you need anything at all. Located in the heart of Ashe County, and just 18 miles from Grayson Highlands State Park, close to everything that there is to see and do. Hike, bike, canoe, kayak, explore the quaint shops, drive down quiet country roads, our area has a lot to offer! Healing Springs is a special place. Discovered in 1884 and originally called Thompson's Bromine and Arsenic Springs. The property was then known as Healing Springs Resort in later years, and is now simply called The Cabins at Healing Springs. The natural spring is purported to have mystical healing abilities and rumored to have cured everything from poison ivy to rheumatism, indigestion to ulcers. Today, our cabins are all equipped with a water pitcher so you can enjoy the fresh spring water in your cabin any time during your stay. Most weekends require a 2 night minimum stay. Check with us if you would like to stay just one night on a weekend as we can frequently accommodate. All major holidays require a 3 night minimum. Dogs are allowed. Dog fees are weight based. Let us know prior to bringing a dog, please.
