Double Room/Breakfast in Linlithgow near Edinburgh
I've lived in the beautiful town of Linlithgow for 28 years. It's on the 'Outlander Trail' and is close to Edinburgh, Falkirk, Glasgow and Stirling. My house is a 5 minute walk to the train station and the High Street where you'll find Linlithgow Palace, the Loch, shops, restaurants, cafes, and tourist information. The John Muir Way is a mile away, the M9 motorway is close by and the airport is just a 20 minute drive. The house is uphill, bright and has lovely views of the town and countryside. This small double room is light and fresh, and has been recently decorated. There is a double bed, a set of drawers, a bedside table and a large built-in wardrobe. The shared bathroom is next to the bedroom. Bed linen, towels, wi-fi, internet and continental breakfast are included in the price. Guests are provided with a key to the front door, so you can come and go as you please. You can use the kitchen to make tea/coffee and any meals you’d like to make. Breakfast is provided. You also have access to the dining area and back garden. Parking is free, on the road. There is also space in my garage for bicycles. I am friendly and hospitable and would like you to feel at home and have a pleasant stay. There are a lot of visitor attractions in Linlithgow and the surrounding area so I would be happy to give you information on things to do while you're here. If you would also like to be taken to the airport or railway station please let me know. My house is in a very quiet residential area and has a wonderful view of Linlithgow Loch, the Palace and surrounding hills. Just down the road are the canal and towpath which connect Edinburgh and Glasgow. Only a few minutes' walk away are the train station, the High Street, the Loch, and Linlithgow Palace where Mary Queen of Scots was born. Local amenities include a tourist centre, three supermarkets and a variety of small shops, two pharmacies, a library, post office, various cafés, pubs and restaurants. Linlithgow is a popular tourist destination and is on the 'Outlander Trail' which will interest all lovers of the Outlander TV series! The town is close to Edinburgh Airport, and is a great place for walking, cycling and other outdoor pursuits. The canal towpath goes all the way from Edinburgh to Glasgow, through Falkirk. Beecraigs Country Park is a short distance away, and Muiravonside Country Park is also close by. During the summer there is a weekly country dancing evening at the Palace, called the Scotch Hop, which is great fun whether you can dance or not! And for music festival lovers Party At The Palace is held during August. Falkirk is 8 miles away and is home to the fabulous Kelpies and the Falkirk Wheel. The pretty riverside town of South Queensferry is also very nearby, where you will find cafes, restaurants, shops, the marina and the Forth bridges. There are 4 trains every hour to Edinburgh (25 minutes), 2 trains per hour to Glasgow (30 minutes), passing through Falkirk, and 2 trains per hour to Falkirk, Stirling and beyond to the Highlands. There are also buses from the High Street to all these locations. The motorway (M9) is a few minutes' drive away connecting Linlithgow to Edinburgh, Glasgow, Stirling and the North. The M8 is also close and leads to Edinburgh, Glasgow and the South. The airport is 20 minutes' drive away. There is also a reliable local taxi service. Please let me know if you need taking to the station or the airport. The station is just down the road, and I would suggest a donation of £15 for an airport drop-off. My house is up a slight hill.
