We offer dog-friendly, self-catering accommodation in our characterful grade II listed farmhouse, located in the stunning Cotswolds. We’re located on the edge of the Cotswolds Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, with lots of stunning walks on the doorstep. The newly refurbished farmhouse boasts four beautifully styled bedrooms: - main bedroom, sleeps 2 in a kingsize bed - second bedroom, sleeps 2 in two single beds - third bedroom, sleeps 2/3 in one super king OR two single beds, with a small adjoining room suitable for a cot or guest bed - fourth bedroom, sleeps 2/3 in one super king OR two single beds, with ample room for an additional guest bed The two comfy and cosy reception rooms, one with a wood burning stove, provide the perfect place to relax and unwind after a day sightseeing. There is a fully equipped farmhouse kitchen with a warming AGA, separate oven and hobs, dishwasher and large fridge-freezer. The farmhouse table comfortably seats eight, to make this the sociable heart of the house. There is a large family bathroom with rainfall shower over the bath. The main bedroom has an ensuite with rainfall shower cubicle. Downstairs there is a cloakroom with WC. A private garden, with a comfortable seating area, looks out across the fields beyond. The large gravel driveway at the front of the farmhouse offers ample off-road parking. The farm has been in our family for over three decades and until recently we lived in the farmhouse, before undertaking the renovation works and turning it into a holiday home. We are now thrilled to be able to welcome you to come and stay. If you need anything during your stay we haven’t moved far! Kate (daughter) and her family live next door and her parents live in a converted barn at the back of the farm, so there will be someone here to greet you on arrival and give you a warm welcome to Downhouse Farm. We are always happy to have a chat about the local area and things to do nearby. We are in a beautiful rural setting, located just minutes walk from the Cotswold Way. It's a perfect base for both short walks or a more challenging hike. There are so many things to see and do locally, from taking the family to visit the oldest inhabited castle in England, getting close to nature at our local WWT wetland reserve or letting the kids go wild at the Cattle Country Adventure Park. Or you can take a drive to surrounding cities, like the historic City of Bath, a UNESCO World Heritage Centre and the City of Bristol with its iconic street art and stunning suspension bridge. The historic market town of Dursley is approximately 1 mile away in a wooded valley, and hosts a variety of independent shops, supermarkets, cafes, restaurants and pubs. Ideal to pop out to for a spot of brunch or dinner, to stock up on some essentials, or to relax in the charming CAMRA pub for a pint in a friendly and welcoming atmosphere. The town of Dursley is approximately 1 mile away and is a lovely walk. The nearest train station is Cam and Dursley (2.7 miles away) with direct services to Bristol, Cheltenham and Gloucester. Dursley Bus Station (1.3 miles away) runs services to destinations including Stroud, Gloucester and Bristol. There are local taxi companies which we can recommend to get you around should you not have a car. Here at Downhouse Farm we are doing all that we can during the Covid-19 pandemic to ensure you stay safe and well when visiting us, including putting in place a new cleaning protocol with the use of virucidal disinfectants, continuing to launder bedding and towels professionally at 60C and increasing the amount of cleaning supplies made available to our guests. We kindly ask that you please responsibly follow all relevant government guidance and stay up-to-date with any changes in regulations that may impact your stay.
