Perfect base for climbing Snowdon!

This comfortable, updated stone-built cottage is the ideal base for an adventurous break in the Snowdonia National Park. At the base of the Nant Peris Valley, one of the most dramatic in Britain, it is perfectly located for climbing Snowdon. The accommodation is great for one or two couples, or a small family. In our tiny village of Nant Peris we have a great local pub with ales, good food and an inglenook fire a stroll from your front door. Castles,beaches and adventures- Snowdonia has it all. The ground floor is open plan. The lounge/diner area has a satellite TV and WIFI, although it's not the fastest! The area is centrally heated in cold weather and there is a log effect heater for any chilly evenings. Off the lounge/diner is the secondary sleeping area, with purpose built settee converting to a 6'6'' long double bed. The kitchen has an electric range style cooker with grill and fan ovens along with a fridge,freezer,dishwasher,microwave and coffee machine etc. Upstairs is the bedroom with standard double bed, wardrobe,chest of drawers etc. The bathroom is en-suite and has bath with shower over, basin/vanity mirror and toilet. Private off road parking to rear for 1/max 2 cars, but probably not suitable for, e.g., camper van. Enclosed rear yard for bicycle storage if required. Behind the property there is a little used playground, swings, rope walks, slide and so on. I am usually around and live adjacent, so will be pleased to welcome guests. However if I am away, key safe code and full information will be sent to you on confirmed booking. If I am at home then basic laundry and drying is available. Nant Peris is a small village with a long history. It is much older than the nearby, larger village of Llanberis. We have no shop but we do have our Pub and 14th century church. For shopping,Restaurants etc a short drive or 25 minute walk gets you to Llanberis, which is also a centre for outward bound pursuits including climbing,canoeing,wild swimming,paddle boarding, triathlons and the list goes on... The Royal Town of Caernarfon with its World Heritage 13th century castle, Roman fort etc is easily accessible by bus or car and offers supermarkets and a larger range of shops, restaurants and so on. While here why not visit the REAL castle of Merlin the Magician, or a unique coastal hilltop stone age village-no entry fees ! From your front door you can; Start your walk to Pen-Y-Pass (The head of the valley) and from there up Snowdon- or cross the road and set off up the Glyder range. Service and park and ride buses pass your front door and the fare to Pen-y-pass is £2; you can carry on for a beautiful journey to Beddgelert the scenic town of the Faithful Hound- or to Betws-Y-Coed with its pretty village and water fall. You might even decide to leave your car parked here, its all up to you ! The road through Nant Peris is usually pretty quiet, but at rush hour, fine weekends and peak season expect some traffic. Mobile phone reception is patchy in the village due to the surrounding mountains, but there is usually cover yards from the door.(Vodafone)
