Mal and Trish welcome you to Nursery Cottage for a smooth start to your holiday, business trip or sightseeing in the area. We offer a private lounge, double bedroom and en-suite facilities. (A continental breakfast can be provided at a small extra charge if required.) For families we have the option to provide a double sofa bed for children. There is a private entrance to your accommodation and a bench and courtyardoutside for sunny days. Check in between 16:00 and 22:00. Check out at 10:30 In your suite we provide tea and coffee facilities, mini fridge and microwave. There is a well stocked local shop 40 yards away if you need to purchase food or other items. There is crockery and cutlery provided for your use, a hairdryer and suitcase weighing scales. We are located in a beautiful area in close proximity to Burrington Coombe, the Mendip hills, the City of Wells, Cheddar Gorge, Chew Valley Lake, Blagdon Lake, National Trust Tyntesfield and Clevedon Court and many attractions that the City of Bristol offers. The Mendip Ski and Activity Centre is a 2 minute drive from the cottage. Located within a 6 minute walk from Nursery Cottage is ‘The Railway Inn’ , Thatcher’s cider public house, with good food and a warm welcome. There is also a ‘Cider Shop’ close by selling a selection of special edition bottled cider and locally sourced cheeses and preserves. Great for presents. Secure storage is available for bicycles if you want to explore the local area and there is secure parking on site. The guest accommodation is no smoking, ground floor and we will accept pets on a case-by-case basis. (An extra cleaning fee for pets is £10 per stay payable on arrival.) We can offer art classes in a range of mediums, including water colours acrylics and oils, which would suit all levels. You might want to think about this as a gift for a birthday or to develop your own skills. These courses are run by a fully qualified art professional with a passion for creativity. Guests can access the accommodation through a private front door with a key safe. The suite can be locked to ensure privacy. We have recently added outdoor areas that can be accessed by guests: a stone bench at the front of the house, seating in a side garden and a bar area, (with honesty box). Our accommodation is part of our 400 year old cottage but is also separate from your suite of accommodation. Access is gained through a private front door through use of a key safe and if you wish you can be completely private for your stay. Check in is from 4pm and check out is by 10.30am. There is a folder of local information in the suite that you may require to make your stay more enjoyable including the wifi code and local telephone numbers. We are aiming to provide an enjoyable stay for sightseeing or airport convenience. The village is in an area of local beauty and close to the Victorian seaside towns of Weston-Super-Mare, 4 miles, and Clevedon, 6 miles and is on the Somerset levels. There are enjoyable promenades, shops and piers to explore in both seaside towns as well many historic sights. There are some really special places to dine out, which would require booking in advance, such as the Ethicurean which is a walled garden restaurant as recommended in The Guardian and SundayTimes. Bath, Frome, Glastonbury and Street are within easy reach. There are local train stations at Weston-Super-Mare, Worle and Yatton which connect to major stations at Bristol and Bath. There is also a local bus service to surrounding areas. There is an OS map of the local area available if you want to explore the area. The Churchill Mendip Lodge dry ski slope and activity centre is 1 mile from Nursery Cottage. The University Veterinary School is on our doorstep if you are visiting or need interview accommodation. We are situated on the A368 which at times is quite busy with traffic going to and from the airport. However, we are not directly on the flight the path and have little air traffic noise. Due to the Coronavirus we're taking extra steps to clean and sanitise frequently touched surfaces between reservations. This is an extra measure in addition to our usual high standard of cleaning between guests.
