Lg 1bdr apt, walk/bus to NIH, metro, Walter Reed

Large, sunny one bedroom apartment, with private entrance, beautifully decorated, gas fireplace and 50" flat screen TV and WiFi. Large bedroom w/ king bed, walk-in closet and comfy chair and lamp for reading. Full kitchen is equipped w/all amenities. Guests can walk(30 min) or take bus (2 min walk to bus stop) to NIH, Walter Reed and/or metro. House is located one block from Rock Creek Park. You can walk, jog or bike on paved trail along the creek. Bethesda is a 7-10 min by car. The cable TV includes free Netflix, Amazon Prime and Pandora. Guests may rent a movie through FIOS and use their credit card for purchase or use their Netflix account number. If guest accidentally uses my FIOS account, I deduct rental from security deposit. Rental immediately appears on my email. There is fresh ground coffee, sugar/Splenda and fresh milk for your morning coffee. I provide a selection of four different individual serving packs of cold cereals, small containers of 2% milk, OJ and fresh bagels and cream cheese for your first morning breakfast. WIFI connection is excellent in all rooms. There is 1 gigabite of upload/download FIOS Internet coming into the house. The apt is a self-contained unit with a separate entrance and lock box. I'm happy to answer any questions and provide insider tips for an enjoyable stay in DC. The neighborhood is very quiet, friendly and safe to walk at night. Streets are lined with old trees, large front lawns and well kept yards. Lots of parking right in front of the house. House is 7-10 min drive to downtown Bethesda where there are a multitude of restaurants, shops and movie theaters. There is a great Chinese restaurant(China Gourmet), family-owned pizza place(Frankly Pizza) and excellent American food restaurant(Black Market) for take-out within a 5min drive of the house. Menus are provided in the apt. There is a Safeway, CVS, liquor store, cleaners and Starbucks, as well as a fabulous neighborhood grocery store that are a 7min drive from the house. #34 bus stops at top of my street(2min walk) takes you to and from metro(5-7min ride). Returning bus will continue into Kensington and stop directly in front of the Safeway(7min ride). Get on the bus across the street from the Safeway and it brings you back to the top of my street. Two stops on the Red Line of Metro(Medical Center and Grosvenor) are a 1.5mi and 1.4 mi walking distance from the house. A bus #34 stops a 2min walk at the top of my street and stops directly at the Medical Center(NIH) metro(5-7 min ride). Same bus will bring you back from the metro and stop at the top of my street. Uber, Lyft or Barwood Taxi can also pick you up. The house is 7min off I-270 and 495 and is right between the two main roads, Wisconsin and Connecticut Ave, which are the main routes into DC. We have an 6-year old Springer Spaniel who is very sweet and quiet. There are no children at home, so the house is very quiet and peaceful. Before COVID, I did not get home from tutoring until around 8pm Monday-Thursday, so guests use the lock box right outside the apt for check in. Until COVID passes, I do not greet guests for obvious reasons. There is a written explanation of everything available in the apt. for guests who arrive. Currently, I am home all day tutoring remotely and will be certainly until fall 2020.
