The Kickback Cabin
The Kickback Cabin is located on a rural acreage property just an hour from Sydney. It is tucked away in our back paddock, looking out onto the last remains of Cumberland Forrest in the Sydney Basin. It’s a great space to simply kickback, enjoy a glass of wine, a walk in the adjacent Scheyville National Park, Longneck Lagoon, nearby Mitchell Park or Cattai National Park. Situated 5 minutes from Pitt Town and the Hawkesbury River, the Kickback Cabin is close to local pubs and cafes too. The Kickback Cabin is a generous space for 2 and can sleep 4. A timber cabin completed in late 2019, it’s got all the comforts you could need as well as relaxed, country atmosphere. Our property is home to ducks, ibis, plovers, rabbits and the occasional visit from deer. The cabin is located in a separate paddock half an acre away from the main home and tucked away behind the rural sheds on a 6 acre property. The cabin sits in a 3 acre paddock, with 5 acreage properties neighbouring. Feel free to respectfully use the space around the cabin. It’s a lovely spot for a BBQ in the summer or a campfire in the winter. The veranda is perfect for a morning coffee or an afternoon glass of wine. The cabin has a compact kitchen with large fridge, microwave convection oven and one hotplate. It is suitable for basic catering. There is also a BBQ and grill outside. Please note, the cabin does not contain a traditional full sized stove/cooker. There is also a Coffee Pod machine. Relaxed linen is provided, including sheets and towels and additional blankets. If you feel like some old fashioned relaxation there books on hand as well as a stereo, television and dvd player and range of dvd's. Parking is located a 50 metre walk from the cabin, down a small hill, so would not be suitable for those with mobility issues. Feel free to respectfully explore the space around the cabin, located in a paddock of approximately 3 acres. It is separated from the main house by a post and rail fence. Whilst we live on the property, we are located half an acre away in the main house. We are generally available on site if required, and Rebecca is happy to show guests around. Maraylya is located on the border of the Hills and Hawkesbury regions of Sydney. We are surrounded by National Parks and the Hawkesbury River is 5 minutes away. Our closest village is Pitt Town which is full of history, has a great pub and cafe. We are 10 minutes away from the historic township of Windsor. Maraylya is a great place to reconnect with nature. There are many bushwalking trails which allow the opportunity to view wildlife. Just around the corner is Longneck Lagoon walking track - a small freshwater wetland, Longneck Lagoon walking track allows visitors to see the startling array of birds that frequent the area. The nearest public transport is located at Mulgrave Railway Station, approximately 10 minutes drive. Please note that carparking is located approximately 50 metres walk from the cabin, and down a small hill. This property is not suitable for guests with mobility issues.
