Peaceful retreat in South Hams

Owl Loft is surrounded by stunning woodlands teeming with wildlife and birdsong. Perfect for couples, with plenty of room on the upper mezzanine for children/guests. Open access to the gardens with tennis court, large pond and stream. A hot tub and fire pit area available to fully enjoy the clear night skies and listen to the owls. Both local villages are within easy walking distance along the Erme-Plym Trail. Only a short drive to gorgeous Devon beaches and all of Dartmoor. The hot tub area is a very special and separate space away from the cottage. It is incredibly private, ~100m from any buildings and not visible from any windows. It is set next to the ~1 acre pond, within the canopy of a large Weeping Willow Tree. In addition to being completely off grid, the wood fired hot tub is free of any chemicals. To achieve this the hot tub is cleaned with environmentally friendly products and filled with fresh water, and only offered for private use. Once filled it takes approximately 3 hrs to heat up. Via the insulated lid the hot tub retains heat exceptionably well. Two days/nights private use of the area is included in all bookings. To maximise your enjoyment of the space we provide towel robes to walk to and from the area, essential oils and enough wood to heat and maintain the temperature of the hot tub. In addition to the hot tub there is bell tent and fire pit for you to enjoy. You are also welcome to borrow any of our canoes or kayaks for use on the pond at your own risk. The bell tent may not be available outside the months of Mar to Sept. It is usually furnished with outdoor beanbags and cushions. It is however possible to fit a full sized double and single mattress on request. Additional day/night use of the hot-tub area can be booked subject to availability and additional fees. The tennis court, basketball hoop, children play areas and remaining grounds are open access throughout your stay. We have tennis equipment and basket balls for your use. With everything South Hams has to offer, in addition to the 2 acres of private grounds on-site to enjoy, longer stays are highly recommended. With this in mind a 12% discount is offered on all stays 7 nights or more. If however you are limited on time and do not think you will be able to make use of the complementary 2 day/night use of the hot-tub area, a bespoke reduction in price can be arranged on request.
