Comfortable single bed, spacious sofa and desk. In the attic: washing and drying machine, sink with hot/cold water. Wifi, DVD/audio system with monitor. Use gazebo/garden (with electricity / Wifi). We expect you vacuuming your room yourself. We separate domestic waste (products): paper, plastic/cans/cartons, organic waste, residual waste. Access to the entire attic. Possibility of washing and drying private laundry. Use of kitchen (limited) - with microwave/hot-air/electric oven - shower, toilets, garage (for two-wheeler and/or luggage), porch/arbor and terraces (garden with electricity/Wifi). You will receive your own key for free access to the secured house, garden and garage. Parking in front of the house. The large attic room is ideal for one man/woman for a short or long(er) term. The room is available for two people (e.g. adult with child/youngster or two students/tourists) on a short-term basis. The room has an extra comfortable 1-person sleeping place with separate/moveable stairs. If you like to stay with two persons, a request must first be made. An introductory visit may follow if possible. The room is not suitable for a(n) (un)married or elderly couple. (Packed) lunch with fruit/drinks (until 13.30): 1) Full-time student 18-27 € 3 p.d. / € 15 p.w. By booking over two month/9 weeks (LS-student) lunches free whole stay, first month included. A student is considered a full-time student if, in principle, at least a full year of study at a Dutch MBO, HBO (college) or university is followed as the first MBO/HBO/university programme. 2) Other guests € 5 p.d. / € 25 p.w. Also see special arrangement under 'Dinner'. Dinner (starts between 18.00 and 18.30): 1) Full-time student 18-27 € 5 p.d. / € 25 p.w. For a continuous stay longer than four weeks (LS-student), meals are free of charge from the fifth week. A student is considered a full-time student if, in principle, at least a full year of study at a Dutch MBO, HBO (college) or university is followed as the first MBO/HBO/university programme. 2) Other guests € 7,50 p.d. / € 45 p.w. Special arrangement other guests: € 275 per month all-in (lunch, fruit/drinks, hot meals, washing/drying) with prepayment. General arrangements If you prepare a hot meal (at our expense) for yourself and the hosts, all meals are free that day. Unused meals do not result in a refund. For interval stays (part of the week) a reduced week/month contribution is applied. Airbnb charges in monthly installments if you stay longer than a month. If you have dietary requirements, allergies or are a (lacto) vegetarian, please let us know asap so that we can take that into account. However, we do not provide dietary service. It is also not the intention that you cook separately for yourself. Washing private laundry 1) Student 18-27 free. 2) Other guests € 5 per combined wash/dry with a maximum of € 10 p.w. No check-ins on Sundays. No offensive language (using gapwords like ‘my god’, etc.) or profane and obscene language. No offensive computing (violence, racism, extremism, pornography, discrimination) and (loud) music. Decent appearance/clothing (not offensive). You are not addicted; no alcohol abuse; no drugs. You are a non-smoker (no smoking/butts in/around the house and garden). You are an animal lover, especially our cat Ruskin. Peace and quiet between eleven (23) and six (6) o’clock, please. Showers until 22.30 in the evening; in the morning preferably after six a.m. During your stay we are available daily in principle. We think it's important that we feel at ease with each other, and ofcourse respect each other's privacy/faith. We prefer social guests, being a student, an employee or a tourist. Rhenen is a small and friendly town on a hill at the Rhine (Neder-Rijn), a bit East of the middle of The Netherlands. To Dutch standards this town has a large church (Cunera Kerk). Rhenen has a fantastic zoo (Ouwehands) and a War Cemetery (Grebbeberg). There is also a TIO (VVV, 1 km). Rhenen is situated at the edge of an area with natural beauty: woods, nature reserves and wetlands. Well-known areas are: Utrechtse Heuvelrug (woods), De Blauwe Kamer (wetlands), Betuwe (a river area with fruit growing and tree nursing); Veluwe, Edese and Ginkelse Heide, Planken Wambuis (moorland/woods). 'Park De Hoge Veluwe' - nature and culture - at Otterlo is recommendable. You can take walks, go for bicycle rides or mountain-bike races, in the vicinity/neighbourhood. You can go for a swim or do all kind of watersports like canoing, sailing, diving, water-skiing/surfing and fishing, but also paragliding, pitch & putt golfing, tennis and volleyball: "De Beldert" in Zoelen - 15 km N320; "Eiland van Maurik" with yaught-basin in Maurik - 16km; "Henschotermeer" in Woudenberg, a beautiful swimming lake in a wood - 22 km via N225; "Strandpark Slijk-Ewijk" at Slijk-Ewijk - 22 km A15/N836; "De Meent" in Beusichem - 26 km N320; "Rijkerswoerdse Plassen" in Elst (Gelderland) - 28 km N or 34 km A15. There are catering and recreation areas with playgrounds, playing fields and outdoor/water equipment, adventure island, diving raft and so on at (almost) all locations. See Internet/ Maps, also for cycle routes. There are two cities close (8 km) to Rhenen: Veenendaal (big market on Tuesdays, small one on Saturdays) and Wageningen (big market on Wednesdays, small one on Saturdays). Other cities: Ede (20 km), Arnhem (25 km), Nijmegen (35 km) and Utrecht (45 km). Interesting towns/villages are Wijk bij Duurstede (by bike/car via dykes - Rijnbandijk - at the other side of the river Rhine - and ferry 25 km), Woudenberg (Pyramid of Austerlitz - with playground - built to honour Napoleon Bonaparte, 26 km via N225 - pyramide van Austerlitz), Culemborg (both 31 km), Vierhouten (63 km via A-way). Harderwijk (59 km VIA n226/a28) is famous because of its dolphinarium. The show is just great. Start and end the visit with watching the dolphins, because the show is absolutely fantastic and changes all the time. You can easily visit Utrecht (historic and pleasant centre, 'De Dom' church), Nijmegen (nice city centre, Sanodome), Arnhem (Burger's Bush Zoo, Airborn Museum, Openlucht [open-air] Museum), Apeldoorn (Palace 'Het Loo'), Amsterdam (capital), Rotterdam (sea port, Euromast, Future Land / Maasvlakte 2, Diergaarde Blijdorp Zoo), Leiden (Naturalis Museum; Corpus) or Den Haag by car, or by train as Rhenen has its own railway station (2 km). If you like churches, you should go to Delft (especially the 'Nieuwe Kerk', but the 'Oude Kerk' as well) and Gouda. But you can find lots of small(er) and beautiful churches all around The Netherlands. Sea beaches: nice family-beaches in Ouddorp (133 km ! via A15/N57, very broad) and Katwijk aan Zee (98 km via N-way. Noordwijk aan Zee (100 km, close to Katwijk aan Zee) is an option too. Scheveningen (99 km via N225/A12) and Burg Haamstede are more touristy, but have fine beaches. Hoek van Holland is another option (and can easily be reached by train, just like Zandvoort aan Zee). Recommended restaurants Rhenen: 'Wereldpaleis' (very good, big, cheap stir-fry restaurant), 'De Grebbeberg' (excellent modern pancake restaurant), 'Koning van Denemarken' (Dutch food, successful restaurant), 'Moeke' (modern and successful restaurant lounge at the river Rhine), 'Kalkoentje' (exclusive and expensive, closed on Sundays). There is also an excellent (and rewarded) snack/luncheon bar 'Colijn', which serves fish too. You will find the best Chinese food in Elst (with another good stir-fry Chinese restaurant close by) and in Kesteren. Further a good Italian restaurant: La Sorellina; and others. Rhenen is rather close to Germany: Emmerich am Rhein (68 km via A12/Arnhem) and Kleve (58 km via A15/Nijmegen). Rhenen ( 2.3 km) and Kesteren (6 km) have a railway station. Public transport: bus 7-8 min. walk ( 600 m). . If you come by public transport, we will pick you up from Rhenen station or Kesteren station at agreed time. Watch out! Rhenen is located in the province of Utrecht. Do not mix up Utrecht province with Utrecht city. Check travel times by car and/or public transport from Rhenen to your destination(s) .
