Rolleston: 25 km from Christchurch City Center; 22-24 km from the airport. Our home: about 1 hr & 40 min to Arthur's Pass; less than 1.5 hours to Akaroa via Little River. Use of washing machine and dryer is FREE for a minimum of 3 nights of stay. Two double bedrooms available (each approx. 9.0 sq.m.), the room in this listing has a double bed and the other (listed separately under the same name) has a trundler bed that can be made into 2 single beds (near new mattresses). The third bedroom, also our office, has a sofa bed that can be turned into 2 separate single beds. Bedrooms have a desk and chair. A separate bathroom and toilet are shared between 3 bedrooms. Accommodation of additional guests depends on availability of the other listed rooms. Guests may share our kitchen, living and dining area and garden. We have an outdoor clothesline that you can use to dry your laundry. For those staying less than three nights, we charge $3 per washing machine load and $5 for one dryer load. We do love to socialize with our guests but also give them the space when they need to be alone. All queries about the place, Christchurch and New Zealand in general are welcome anytime. We are a globe-trotter couple and therefore know what makes us happy when we are staying in other people's homes. We also love camping and day hikes around the area, hence, would be able to suggest where the best places to explore. Quiet and safe residential neighbourhood, brand new subdivisions nearby. A few restaurants (Thai, Japanese, Mediterranean, Indian, Chinese) and food chains (McDonalds, KFC, Burger King, Dominos, Hell Pizza, Subway), a bakery, supermarkets (Countdown and New World) , Noel Leeming, Postie, and The Warehouse are within 3km. The nearest bus stop is a 7 min. walk away. FREE off-street parking is available on the gated premises. Christchurch International Airport and Christchurch City Center are c. 30 min. away by car. Bus service from Rolleston to Christchurch starts from 5:57am to 9:26pm weekdays, 10:26pm on Saturdays and 8.26pm on Sundays. Yellow Bus service schedule available online.
