Our farmhouse B&B is well situated for visitors who are travelling through the region, or better still, stop and take in the beautiful scenery and explore an amazing diversity of things to do, and see. William Wallace, Mary Queen of Scots, Selkirk Bannock, Walter Scott, Merlin, The Romans and Reivers all helped to shape who we are today. A warm welcome awaits on our family livestock farm. You could make friends with the sheepdogs, perhaps help feed a pet lamb or two in the springtime, enjoy a walk round the fields and tracks and make your way into the town of Selkirk, less than 2 miles away to enjoy the traditional Selkirk Bannock loaf and cup of tea. The beds are comfortable and the breakfast delicious. Arrive weary, depart inspired. Sunnycroft Farmhouse is well set out to allow guest to enjoy their own parking area, separate access and living space within the house. As well as a breakfasting/lounge room our guests are welcome to enjoy the pretty garden, and can request a look around the farmyard and/or adjoining fields. For safety reasons because of the livestock and farm machinery, the farmer or myself must be present, and are normally able to oblige and answer any questions. I always plan to be home to greet my guests, and I will serve breakfast, before wishing them a happy, carefree onward journey. 4 of the main Borders towns, Selkirk, Melrose, Galashiels and St Boswells, are within a 10 minutes drive of Sunnycroft Farmhouse B&B.The Borders towns are well known for the production of high quality tweeds, tartans and knitwear. Local crafts, boutiques and tasty delicacies are a joy to find. Indulge in the best of regional cuisine in the multitude of restaurants, tearooms and pubs, everything from Selkirk Bannock to succulent local lamb, beef or haggis, not to mention the craft beers and gins. Great transport links; hop on the train from Edinburgh Waverley to Tweedbank Station, which is only 3 miles from us. The main north/south trunk road, A7, from Carlisle to Edinburgh is only half a mile from the farm, and a regular bus service passes the road end. Fly into Newcastle or Edinburgh, and drive the hour and a half, from either airport, through scenic countryside to reach your destination. Christine’s home is located near the small town of Selkirk in the heart of the Scottish Borders, United Kingdom. A great variety of outdoor pursuits and interests from genealogy, archaeology to hill climbing, horse racing and sailing to the famous mountain biking mecca of Glentress, can all be easily accessed from the farm. During the summer months our 'Borderlands' towns come alive with the 'Riding of the Marches' festivals -witness Europe's largest mounted cavalcade. Enjoy driving on our quiet roads and through stunning countryside.
