Gîte Les Deux Ânes

Tucked away in a small rural village near the Pyrénées mountains, deep in the french countryside you will find our 2 bedroom gîte full of rustic charm. A private garden and terrace offers a secluded spot to relax and enjoy the sound of the palms swaying in the breeze. Whether you've spent the day hiking or cycling in the mountains, exploring nearby towns or patrimony, the gîte is a comfortable and peaceful place to relax. Enter the gite through the private garden into the open plan kitchen and dining area. The kitchen is well equipped, dining table seats 6 and there's a log burner for the odd chilly night. Up 4 steps off the kitchen is the first bedroom with ensuite shower and toilet. The large upper bedroom is located further up a steep, narrow staircase off the kitchen. There is a queen bed, toilet/shower room. The wifi can be spotty as we are quite rural, reception is better in some rooms than others (Website hidden by Airbnb) The gite is attached to our house, where we live with our 2 dogs year round. The spaces are independent of one another, separated by a utility room. The gite is completely private with separate entrance and garden. We live in the farmhouse next to the gite. You may see us across the lane walking our dogs or tending to the chickens, sheep and donkeys. Your space is completely private and independent of ours although the spaces share a common wall. Naturally, are available if you have any questions or concerns. While there is not much to do in Pouy besides relaxing, there is plenty to explore in the area. Our nearest convenience is 3km away with a cafe/pub and village general store. At 7km away is Castelnau Magnoac with a restaurant, bank, hardware store, bakery and weekly market and the slightly larger Boulogne sur Gesse at 10 mins. We are 1h20 from the busltling city of toulouse, 1h from tapas & shopping in Spain, 40mins to hiking, cycling, river rafting, fishing, caving, parapente and much more in the pyrenees mounains. there are several swimming lakes nearby, weekly markets and small towns to explore, such as Auch, Bagneres de Bigorre and Saint-Bertrand-de-Comminges. The location is absolutely car dependant. You can cycle or walk from the gite but there is little public transport to amenities or attractions. There is a steep, narrow staircase to the upper bedroom. Low window ledges may be unsuitable for children.
