You cannot believe the views! Wake up in a quiet village and watch the sunrise over the harbor right in your front yard, go out the front door of your private cottage to walk along the harbor and along the ocean, go out the back door and see the famous Mourne Mountains. Or stay inside and enjoy the one story cottage with open plan lounge, kitchen/dining area. This is a perfect place to work from your temporary home office with full WiFi, overlooking the water. Attention hikers! This cottage is perfect for you and your friends to stay before and after a hike in the Mourne Mountains. With space for 6 to sleep comfortably, you'll be able to get an early start on your adventure up the Mournes. There are 3 other adjacent private cottages that are perfect for large families or friend groups to all stay together! The cottage has received MANY updates in the last few months! It has been freshly painted, we've purchased new linens, new furniture, and new appliances including a cooker and a washer/dryer combo! There are 2 bedrooms, one with two bunk beds, as well as a double room with a brand new comfortable mattress. The cottage has been freshly painted and we’ve added some updated furniture! The bathroom has all new plumbing for relaxing and an amazing well-pressured shower! Parking is available. The cottage is part of the Friends Forever International Center at Annalong. 100% of proceeds go towards the mission of FFI, an NGO, which is to empower youth leaders to connect, strengthen, and serve communities around the globe by combining their passion to make the world a better place with the skills, experiences, and resources required to do so. Guests will have access to their private cottage and outdoor green space Someone is available by phone to assist guests if needed. The Center is located in a quiet village at the foot of the famous Northern Irish Mourne Mountains on the east coast of Northern Ireland. It's 1 hour from Belfast and 1.5 hours from Dublin. Annalong is a picturesque fishing village situated in the heart of the ‘Kingdom of Mourne’. It offers an idyllic and peaceful setting to engage with the diverse beauty of the Northern Ireland countryside. You are close to the Annalong Harbour that has lots of history and exploring, as well as the town of Kilkeel habour for fishing. Visit the historic Annalong Cornmill right next door and discover the region’s heritage. You can also take a ferry to explore Greencastle and the famous village of Carlingford for fantastic outdoor pursuits and other activities. Stop by local restaurants Harbour Inn and Galley for delicious food and/or travel ten minutes to bustling Newcastle for dining, takeaway, shopping and more. There are many activities in the area! For example, Castlewellen Forest Park offers canoeing, kayaking, raft building, mountain biking, the famous mile long MAZE, and gardens. Kilbroney Forest Park offers mountain biking and the Shannaghmore Outdoor Education Centre offers high ropes course. The Center is just a 5 minute drive from Bloody Bridge and other trails on the Mourne Mountains. There is on-site parking at the Center. There is also regular bus access (Bus 37) from Annalong to Newcastle. From Newcastle, you can get to Belfast and Dublin via bus. We will be following all recommended COVID-19 guidelines.
