Charming one bedroom apartment with bathroom, kitchen and balcony at the first floor of the villa. It can accommodate 2 adults + 1 child under 10 yrs in a folding bed or a baby in a crib. In the garden there is a swimming pool and a pool house equipped with table, chairs, a bench and sun loungers. Free wi-fi available in the apartment and in some common areas. La Maison Soleil is a high quality villa that lies in a quiet area, surrounded by a large garden, with a swimming pool reserved for the in-house guests. The respect of the environment is one of our priority. We have installed a solar water heater to make hot water, we separate all the solid waste, we make the compost and use it to grow our fruit trees. The rain water is collected to water the big garden. We support the local community and invite our guests to experience the local food in the restaurants of the village or to have a dinner with a Mauritian family as well to buy products made by local artisans. It is located at a walking distance (10 minutes by foot) from the center of the village and 5 minutes from the beach, by car. La Maison Soleil is an ideal base for visiting the fabulous east coast beaches and a starting point for the exploration of the whole Island. A car is recommended if you want to visit the region. Otherwise you can move by public transport or taxi. Guests have access to the swimming pool and the pool house equipped with sun loungers and outside furniture, as well as to the garden. Parking is available in the yard. The host lives on site and will be present to help and assist guests during their stay. Trou d'eau Douce is a picturesque village situated on the east coast of Mauritius, with its bay overlooking the crystal waters of the longest lagoon of the island and its stunning white sand beaches. In the recent years it has faced a good touristic development, although without losing the magical laid-back atmosphere of the fishing village it was at the real beginning. It is an ideal place for people who love relax, white sand beaches and want to discover the real way of living of the local people. The village hosts the following facilities: different kind of restaurants, pizzeria, souvenir shops, supermarkets, Atm machine, pharmacy, exchange office and post office. The well-known Ile aux Cerfs, with its breathtaking beaches and splendid lagoon waters, is just a short boat ride on the facing bay. The embarkation point is 15 minutes by foot from the house. Nearby the house, it is possible to reach also the most beautiful beaches of the east coast: Palmar beach at 3 km of distance, Belle Mare public beach at 7 km, and Trou d'eau Douce beach at 2 km. The bus stop is 200 m far from the house. By bus it is possible to reach the town of Flacq and the beach until Palmar. A good service of taxis is also available to reach any destination of the island. Flacq is the most important town of the district (10km far from Trou d’eau Douce) where you can find big supermarkets (Super U et Winners) shopping malls and banks. Twice a week, on Wednesday and Sunday, it hosts a local interesting market. From Flacq bus station it is possible to reach by bus the most important cities of the island. The airport is one hour drive, as well as the capital city Port Louis. Bras d'Eau National park is 20 minutes far by car. Le Pouce mountain is 45 minutes by car. To visit in the area, the Hindu temple of Pointe de Flacq. Bus stop at 200 m. Parking available in the property. Taxi service. Transfer from/to the airport. Car, scooter and bike rental La Maison Soleil has a regular license issued by the Mauritian Tourism Authority. Following the sanitary protocol against covid19, your room will be cleaned and fully disinfected before your arrival. Disinfection is also made in the common spaces. Smoking is allowed just on the balcony and in the outside areas. The water is heated by a solar heater of 330 liters and the temperature of it may vary depending of the sun and of the season. The air conditioning works from 6 pm until 7 am of the following morning and from 12 pm to 2 pm in the afternoon. While using it, the windows and the doors must be closed to ensure the proper functioning of the same and to save energy. Energy and water are very precious resources and we recommend not to waste them. We are eco-friendly and try to impact the less of possible on the environment. You can cooperate for a clean environment separating plastic, beer cans and paper from the rest of the trash. For your security and that of the whole house, it is advisable to lock the windows and the doors during the night or when you go out. We suggest you to put all your documents, credit card, cash or valuables in the safe box. The swimming pool can be used from 7 am to 9 pm While using the swimming pool children must be supervised by an adult who is responsible of their safety.
