The Nest is to be found at the heart of the historic market town of Llandeilo. The townhouse, built in the 1830’s, compliments original features with contemporary comforts. A perfect base, with all the luxuries of home, from where you can discover the delights of the Brecon Beacons and Black Mountains and the myriad of castles and other historic sites. Llandeilo was named as the ‘coolest place to stay in the UK’ by the Sunday Times. The Nest is a stroll from its boutique shops, bars and restaurants and a stone’s throw from the 800 acre Dinefwr Estate with its 12th century castle, historic Newton House and countless engaging walks amongst wild deer and the famous White Park cattle. With so many wonderful places to visit from Carreg Cennen Castle, the Red Kite Feeding Centre at Llanddeusant, Dolaucothi Gold Mines, Aberglasney House and Gardens, and the National Botanic Garden of Wales to name just a few. The Nest is a perfect base for all. Cyclists, fisherman, walkers, will all enjoy the delights of the surrounding area. With such a convenient location and luxuriously comfortable accommodation, The Nest is perfect for both active and relaxing breaks all year round. Our place is good for couples, groups and families. ACCOMODATION The Nest sleeps 5 in 3 bedrooms: 1 king size, 1 double and 1 single room. You enter next to Bentley & Co Jewellery into the downstairs entrance hall with coat and shoe storage, you then continue upstairs. Here are a few important highlights for your stay @ The Nest: - unoccupied for over 24 hours prior to your stay - extensive deep clean - sanitise high-touch surfaces, down to the doorknob - use cleaners and disinfectants approved by global health agencies - wear protective gear to help prevent cross-contamination - clean each room using extensive cleaning checklists - provide extra cleaning supplies, so you can clean as you stay - comply with local laws, including any safety or cleaning guidelines If you have any questions regarding cleaning please don’t hesitate to message me. FIRST FLOOR This is an open-plan living space comprising of: Living room: 2 large comfortable sofas surrounding coffee table, large flat screen Freeview TV with integrated DVD player, iPod dock Kitchen: The kitchen is large and fully equipped with a dishwasher,Nespresso coffee machine, electric hob, electric oven, fridge, freezer, kettle, toaster, microwave (Washing machine is located on third floor). Dining Area: Table with 5 chairs. SECOND FLOOR Master Bedroom: Kingsize bed, fitted wardobes, mirror. Single Bedroom: Single Bed, Fitted wardrobe, small set of drawers, mirror. Bathroom: Large bathroom with bath with integrated shower, wc, wash hand basin with shaver point and cabinet mirror light. THIRD FLOOR The bedroom on the top floor has a narrow staircase leading to it, with low old beams which guests should be aware of. It is a lovely cosy room, with its own en-suite toilet, but we just want to make all guests aware so there is no bumping of heads! The Nest Bedroom: Double bed, large chest of drawers. • En-suite WC: Ensuite wc and washbasin with mirror light and shaverpoint. Washing machine is located here. Outside & Parking: The Nest has no garden, only a rear courtyard where the bins are located. We do not have parking, it is a one way road. When guests are dropping off their bags we would suggest stopping around the corner at the ‘Travel house’ and putting your hazard warning lights on while you unload. If possible, one person should stay with the car as it is double yellow lines. There is free on street parking available within 100 metres at the top (up the hill) of Carmarthen Street. We don't have any outdoor space, but you don't need it being in the middle of a town which so many green spaces!! Arriving at the Nest is as safe as possible, as there is a key safe where you can collect the keys with no contact with host. Of course if you do need help, then you can simply call and we will be on hand to help any way we can. The Nest is a stroll from its boutique shops, bars and restaurants and a stone’s throw from Dinefwr Estate with its 12th century castle, historic Newton House and countless engaging walks. On the edge of the stunning Black Mountains and Breacon Beacons. Llandeilo has a train station, which 'The Heart of Wales' line runs through. It is slow, but with only 2 carriages and cutting through the most beautiful scenery, it is a wonderful way to arrive, or just for a day out. It is a 15-20minute walk to the property from the station. (URL HIDDEN) There are also 2 bus stops within 5 minutes of the house. At the top of Carmarthen Street, on New Road (to right of Hen Vic), and one on other side of road further down New Road, where you can catch a bus to Carmarthen. Otherwise to head towards Ammanford (East), turn right out the Nest and head down the main road, there is a bus stop next to the church. (URL HIDDEN) Taxis are not great in Llandeilo, as there are not many opperating. The best is 'Llandeilo Taxis' run by Mike, Gina, and Janine. Plan ahead as they can be very busy on weekends. (PHONE NUMBER HIDDEN) As this is a townhouse it is over several floors, so it would not be suitable for people with limited mobility. Likewise, if you stay with young children, you should be aware of the (URL HIDDEN) the 3rd floor, is The Nest bedroom with double bed and ensuite, it is accessed via a small stair case, and there are low beams, which are very beautiful, but we just want to make you aware so there are no bumped heads! Llandeilo is an old market town, therefore many of the streets are small and not originally built to cope with parking cars at properties. There is free parking at the top of our road, only a few minute walk from the Nest Cars come and go here all day. It is quietest before or after office hours. Even in busy times if you circle you should find a space. The map also shows the main car park in town. It is free overnight, (the free period, I think it is between 6pm & 8am, just double check on the signs) but otherwise it is 70p for 1hr, £1 for 4 hours or £1.50 for 10 hours. 10 hours is the maximum ticket you can buy, so you would have to go back There are streets near the car park which you can park for free such as Allan Road and any further down than that are all free residential streets. You can also park around the corner from The Nest on Kings Street if you arrive back later. You can park there between 6pm and 9am. It is an hour free otherwise, so as long as you move them by 10am you will be fine or the other way around if you arrive back at 5pm.
