This 1730 Dutchess County family-friendly home combines historic features with modern amenities. Set in a 2 acre garden (with treehouse!), light-filled kitchen, living room with fireplace, dining room, 3 bedrooms (with air-conditioning), 2 bathrooms, a den, screened porch. The house is spacious and child-friendly. Used regularly as a weekend home, the original building is from the 18th century but was renovated in the past 3 years, so combines traditional features such as exposed wood beams, with modern comforts including a large walk-in shower and newly-built screened-porch. Fireplace in living room, wood-burning stove in den, wi-fi, full kitchen Outside: large garden, treehouse, tree swing, screened back porch with fan or space heater dependent on time of year, front porch with rocking chairs to take in the view - ideally with a cool glass of something! Off-street parking. Inside: The house is spacious and all is available for your use; in addition to the listed beds, there is a cot bed that could sleep an extra adult or child, and a child's air bed - each could fit in any of the bedrooms. Pack and play also available for little ones. In addition to cycling and outdoor exercise, the house has an eliptical trainer and a Pilates wall. Happy to answer all questions! Recently featured in the New York Times due to the new Silo Ridge luxury golf course that is being created on the opposite side of the small town (URL HIDDEN) we were excited to see that Tom Brady and Gisele Bundchen bought a property in Amenia in 2015 (URL HIDDEN) Amenia is the perfect place from which to explore the Hudson Valley, with all the natural beauty, food and antiquing that it has to offer - 15 minute drive to Millbrook, 10 minutes to Millerton, 40 minutes to Hudson, 40 minutes to Rhinebeck. We are in a quiet spot but within walking distance of a grocery store. For kids young and old - the drive-in movie theater, Sharon Audubon Center, swimming lake with life-guards, diners, and bike trail are all within 15 minutes drive Bordering Connecticut in rural Dutchess County, Amenia is just 1 hour 45 minutes from NYC by car, and only a 5 minute taxi-ride from Wassaic train station (MetroNorth line from Grand Central). The perfect place from which to explore the Hudson Valley, with all the natural beauty, food and antiquing that it has to offer - 15 minute drive to Millbrook, 10 minutes to Millerton, 40 minutes to Hudson, 40 minutes to Rhinebeck.
