Built in (Phone number hidden by Airbnb) and recently renovated, our gorgeous house of charme belongs to the city architectural heritage. It's very centrally located yet immersed in the green. We value our guests happiness: our place is ultra tidy and we provide complementary foodies and a public transport free pass. Your kitchen is fully equipped: toaster, blender, plenty of plates, cups, pans and spices, dish washer, American and Italian Moka coffee machine. You'll find in your kitchen all you need for a continental (complementary!) breakfast. The open-air patio comes with a wooden table and a sofa lounge under the glass pergola: a great spot to unwind, enjoy your meals or a night cup. In the bathroom: body wash, shampoo and tooth paste; more toiletries available on request (free of charge). Available for a fee: Sauna and open-air Jacuzzi in the Zen garden. The Sauna needs 4 hours to warm up, please tell us in advance if you wish to use it. Feel home, we're happy to help and to respect your privacy. A binder with plenty of info about Bern (restaurants, grocery shops, museums, how to rent a bike or order a cab, etc) is in your flat, and we are always happy to help may you have questions or need tips, help or advice. The area is called "Altenberg", it's an upscale though laid back neighborhood. 6 minutes walk away from Old Town, it's immersed in the green on a sunny cliff above Aare's river. We are at walking distance from Botanical Garden, Roses Garden and the Bears' Parc. It's a quiet and safe residential area, with one tram stop or a short stroll you reach plenty of shops and restaurants. Kursaal / Allegro congress center and tram stop "Kursaal" are one minute walk from home. Old town: 6 minutes walk. Tram number 9, "Kursaal" stop: 1 minute on foot. With a 4 minutes tram ride you are at the train station. Bicycle for rent: a Publibike parking is one minute walk away. Parking: Bern is a small city and public transport system works great. Also, most of the city is hard to navigate by car, as the city council wants us all to privilege bikes, tram and healthy walks. However, if you really want to come by car, consider that no free parking is available in Bern. Close to our place: - Kursaal Parking is just above our house. Check please their website for related costs. - With a “LIBERO Parkkarte Blauzone” (available at any public transport vending machine), you can leave your car in all white stripes' signaled parking spots in town. There are a few of them around our place. It will cost you 16 Fr/ day. From the Airport: Bus to the train station, Tram number 9 to "Kursaal". Our house is located under the Kornhaus bridge. We find it amazing, with its steel and brick (Phone number hidden by Airbnb) architectural charme. If for some reason you don't like bridges, though, you probably won't like our home either. Wash machine, tumbler and air-dryer: drop a 2 Fr. coin in the box. Please ask us for guidance. Bern Visitor Tax: 5.30 CHF/per person over 16 years/night (reduced rate of 1.50 for age 6-16). From your first overnight you will receive a "Bern Ticket" for the whole stay: you'll travel for free on public transport in zones (Phone number hidden by Airbnb) cally, the whole city center). It includes also the Gurten and Marzilibahn funiculars, the elevator to the Cathedral Platform, as well as transport to Bern Airport.
