Domaine de Sengresse - La Buanderie, the perfect place to relax in the peace and quiet of the Landes countryside. Expect peace and quiet in this tranquil place. Enjoy the extensive gardens, the pool and the history of this 17th Century manor house. Ideal for couples or families with young children happy to share one very big bedroom. Split over 2 floors, it has its own kitchen-diner with mezzanine sitting room, huge bedroom & bathroom. Expect original features combined with modern comforts. Antique furniture, original paintings, carpets and lighting add to this luxurious space. The property is adjacent to the main house, but with your own area of the gardens for eating outside and barbequing but with access to the whole three hectares. For your information, the ground floor of the house is split into 3....with entirely separately access to all three parts. La Buanderie is accessed via a small terrace with french doors opening up into the kitchen/diner....which is straight onto it's own gardens and our larger shared gardens beyond. You'll see this on the photo. The kitchen looks on to the kitchen garden/potager and beyond that the swimming pool and larger gardens. The laundry is accessed totally independently, at the front of the little house....and another guest accommodation space (is not available to access. We let this out as a B&B room - they have no access to La Buanderie - the two spaces are totally independent). You are welcome to roam the gardens as much as you like. We also have a huge barn with an exhibition running throughout the summer. If you have bikes, you're welcome to lock them up in our outbuildings. You have a BBQ, outside table and chairs, parasol, swing seat and loungers in your garden. We're only across the courtyard, and so if there's anything you want to know or recommendations you'd like with restaurant bookings, markets, places to visit etc, we're always happy to chat! The village of Mugron is only up the hill - a couple of minute's drive from the house.....and in fact the main square is named after Frederic Bastiat who lived in the main house. You'll find all you in need in the village - as well as a Thursday and Saturday market. Otherwise Tartas, St Sever and Montfort en Chalosse are all within 15 minutes's drive - great markets, cafes, restaurants, shops and at St. Sever you'll find the abbey is on the route of Santiago de Compostela. Green routes for cycling.....beautiful lakes with lots of wildlife, and the Adour river just close by. In the summer months we have an art exhibition in our barn. Different exhibitions throughout the months with local and international artists. There is an information pack that has is full of local visitor guides etc. There are beautiful walks and cycle route around here. We have a lot of maps and are happy to share information, we have also included information within our visitor pack. . The disused railway line is a 'voie verte' and great for cycling or walking...and various routes along the Adour. Also a number of cycle route through the famous local pine forests. You need some kind of transport to get around whether it's car or bike.
