Stone built, detached, 2 bedroom, fully equipped gite with lovely views over the Limousin countryside. Located on the outskirts of the village of Cheissoux in the Haute Vienne Department at the heart of France. Enclosed garden with furniture and games. Close to lakeside beaches and surrounded by beautiful countryside. Ideally located for either the very active with walking, riding and biking tracks or a totally laid-back and relaxing holiday in peace and tranquillity. Le Chardon is a recently renovated 2 bedroom gite and is fully equipped. There is a double room and a twin bedded room with a cot. All linens are supplied. Downstairs is a bright, open plan, kitchen, dining living area with all cooking facilities and equipment (fridge/freezer, washing machine, dishwasher, microwave etc) needed to make your stay comfortable and pleasant. The gite benefits from a wood burning stove and an electric heater in the bathroom however, there is no central heating. From October to April there is a large basket of logs per night included in our price and additional logs are available at €10 per basket. Please note that during July and August the minimum booking period is 7 nights. Le Chardon is set in a 1 acre park with lovely views over the Limousin countryside. Le Chardon is detached and set apart from the owners home and forms a side of a courtyard style setting. The large garden is laid to lawn with fruit trees and shaded areas where there are swing seats, hammock and children's swing. There is a lovely patio area for the sole use of the gite guests with bbq facilities. There are garden games available for the energetic, sun loungers for that laid back holiday feeling and a paddling pool for the children to play in. We also have full range of children's equipment including cot, high chair, buggy and car seats suitable for newborn to 12 years. Due to Covid, any interaction will be within the guidelines laid down. The gite Le Chardon shares the garden with the owners and their chickens. The owners are available for any queries the guests may have during their stay. Cheissoux is a small, peaceful village. However there are regular events, such as fetes and vide greniers, held throughout the summer months in the village itself and in the local area. The Limousin is well known for its lakes, many of which have swimming beaches. There are tracks and trails for walking, trekking, mountain biking or even trail bikes. From hills to climb and river valleys to explore, dams and waterfalls and its varied flora and fauna and places of historical interest, the Limousin has something for everyone. Leaflets and an information book is available in the gite listing places of interest and restaurants. A car is necessary. There are rail stations with regular trains running to Limoges and Paris. The roads here are perfect for cyclists or motorbikes and Le Chardon has private, off-road parking for cars and covered parking for both bicycles and motorbikes. Le Chardon is ideally located for house hunters being centrally located for easy access to the many regions of France with good transport links by air or train. The Limousin is famed for porcelain and the city of Limoges is 40 mins by car. The area is rich in history and the town of St. Leonard de Noblat is on the Chemins de St. Jacque de Compostelle. There is a Lifeguard controlled beach (July and August) with childrens play area just 5 minutes away. The gite is heated by a wood burning stove - there is no central heating. The minimum bookings period is 3 nights except during peak season when the minimum booking is for 7 nights.
