This cosy Shepherd’s hut is a rural retreat away from the hustle and bustle of life –set in the grounds of a medieval farmhouse called Little England. The setting and the garden are quite magical as the name suggests Shampo(URL HIDDEN) Hangers This is the space for you if you want somewhere to rest, recuperate and recharge your batteries. On the other hand, if you want to explore the area there are many exciting places to visit if you choose to. We are on the Somerset Levels, which is an area abundant in wildlife. Whether you are a bird watcher, walker, into history or cycling – then this area is for you. The cosy Shepherd’s hut has its own front door and key. It is decorated in a simple, stylish contemporary way, with a few Retro bit and bobs. Your bed is proper full sized double bed, with a sprung memory foam mattress. Very comfy. The bed is an Ottoman, the mattress lifts up, to give you plenty of storage space for bags and suitcases. The bed is raised, but should you feel that you might fall out, we have provided you with little steps and a safety bar. Over the bed there is a full HD television with a DVD slot, perfect for relaxing evenings, or if you prefer you can swivel the TV, and watch in your comfy Director’s chairs. To keep you warm, we have provided an electric stove, that provides you with instant heat, with the flicker of a flame. You have mains electric for lighting and some sockets, and we even supply you with a hair dryer. We have managed to get as many home from home essentials into the Shepherd’s hut, such as soft towels and luxurious bed linen. You have a kettle, and tea/coffee making facilities as well as a mini fridge to keep those essentials in. Should you wish to cook an evening meal yourself, you can go to the conservatory where you will find a microwave, that you are free to use. On the other hand, if you fancy a night under the stars, you can use one of our outdoor wood stoves, and enjoy being outside. We have even provided you with a selection of board games should you wish to hide away. If you would like your visit to be more of a healing retreat, then we can provide that too. Your host is a Reflexologist and can offer treatments in our treatment room. However it is best to pre book before you arrive. Please feel free to use the Potting shed it has comfy sofas, a place to sit and relax. Breakfast is provided daily in the conservatory and is self- service. We can cater for gluten free, vegetarians and hopefully anything in between - just let us know beforehand and we will try our best to accommodate your wishes. Our aim is to give you a very comfortable, restful stay in Little England, it is as lovely as it sounds Guests have the Shepherd’s hut entirely to themselves and will have their own key, ideal if you want a romantic break and privacy. There might be other people staying in other accommodation whilst you are here, but each one has a private area with their own outside table and chairs. You also have access to a shower and toilet a short distance away. Guests are very welcome to use the garden and the facilities. We live in the main house – a lovely Medieval Farmhouse – with exposed beams and wood burning fires, in winter. We are ‘on –hand' should you need us but also totally in-obtrusive if you want us to be. However, you might meet us in the garden Little England is at the end of a quiet no –through road in the village of Othery. We don't have street lights in the village, so on clear nights the night sky is very visable. The village itself has a number of amenities within walking distance. We have our own village bakery that sells amazing bread, cakes and much more (open Tuesday to Saturday until about 3pm) and if you want to sit in and eat there is also a café area. Likewise, food is served in the village pub, The London Inn. They serve lunches and evening meals and also a Sunday Carvery. We even have a Post Office, a bit of a luxury here in rural Somerset. If you don't mind getting in your car, there are a number of choices of other places to eat out. We can offer numerous places to visit, depending on what you want to do. If you want nature, wildlife and birdwatching everything is on your doorstep as we are on the Somerset Levels. Glastonbury with its Tor and interesting town are only a 20 minute drive away. Bridgwater, the home of Carnival is 8 miles away – during the Autumn months Somerset has many Illuminated Night carnivals. We can advise you on more places to visit once you are here. Our nearest small town is Langport, which is about 5 miles away, it has cafes and some interesting shops, and our nearest supermarket Tesco. You really need a car to get around as we are in a rural part of Somerset, although we do have buses that run hourly through the village. Easy access from the M5 and the A303 motorways. (approx. 20 minutes to both) Othery is situated on the main A361 between Taunton and Glastonbury. There is plenty of parking and safe places to keep bikes if you wish to bring them Please let us know when you will be arriving (usually we say after 3.30pm) and let us know if you want any special requests before you arrive otherwise we may not be able to meet your needs. Check out time is usually 11.30 am
