Villa Salvia

Originally built over a hundred years ago, the house was lovingly refurbished to fit contemporary needs for a perfect holiday. The large pagoda-tree in the middle of the garden provides shade for the hydrangeas to grow and shelter to a multitude of birds and bees and invites you to make yourself at home here. You can enjoy a glass of unique Badacsony wine under the walnut tree or watch the light of the setting sun turn the mountain into shades or orange and purple from the hammock in the back. The house has two separate sleeping areas and can comfortably accommodate 4 adults and one child or a family of five. The kitchen is fully equipped with Nespresso machine, wine cooler and further appliances. The indoor dining area is suitable for a party of 6 while the garden allows for pleasant and romantic alfresco dining. Guests have exclusive access to the garden area around the main house, including the front lawn, the patio, the driveway and parking area. Guests of the villa also have access to the rest of the garden, but some of its features, such as the outdoor fire area, ping pong table and shed are shared with other guests staying in the small guest suite in the adjoining house in the back. I am available for assistance during your stay with information, holiday tips or whatever is needed. At times I will be staying next door but in any case not too far away to help or to arrange for assistance. Surrounded by Lake Balaton, Badacsony, Szigliget and Szent György-hegy, and only a hop away from the picturesque Káli Basin, the house is an ideal spot for exploring the region and making the most of a Balaton holiday. Driving your own car for ease of transport is recommended, but not necessary. Train and bus stations are at a 10 min walk and they run regularly. The nearest beach is a 25 min walk away. Bike path runs near the house and it is easy and convenient to ride your bike to most place. Small grocery store, wine terrace and pizza place 5 mins walk away. Large supermarkets at 9 kms. Great restaurants, cafés and wineries within a 10 km radius. Hikes to mountaintop viewpoints start behind the house with additional routes a bit farther away. The property is located on the main road of the village. The upside is that it is easily accessible and short walking distance to local services and conveniences such as grocery store, church, pub/pizzeria, wine bar, train and bus station, post office. Some traffic noise can be heard during the day, although not typically at night. Also, it is a living village, so expect birds, a moderate amount of bugs, some barking dogs and the occasional neighbour fixing things with machinery or mowing the lawn.
