This 2 bedroom newly decorated bungalow is located in a peaceful cul-de-sac in the seaside Devon village of Wembury, half a mile from the beach. The well equipped rooms offer a comfortable home from home with plenty of space to relax and play, with a sea view from the kitchen. The large south facing garden is a real sun trap, boasting 3 patios, a fish pond and child's slide and swing. The property also benefits from a conservatory. Off road parking for 2 cars. Wifi and Netflix included. The Bungalow is a great place to stay whether you are looking for a relaxing and restful break or an activity holiday, or a mixture of the two. For those looking to rest, the cosy living room with large comfortable furniture is a great place to read, play games or watch television (books, games, TV with Netflix provided). For a change of scene why not use the conservatory overlooking the beautiful garden. Sunseekers need look no further than the generous sized garden which is a real sun trap right until sunset. The beach is a 10 minute stroll away where you can sit and relax on the sand or pebbles (we have both) and watch the world go by with a fresh coffee, pasty or ice cream from the beach cafe. Those seeking activities can head down to the beach for some rock-pooling, surfing, paddleboarding or why not clamber over the rocks to a more secluded beach? Or maybe you fancy going on a hack into the woodlands with the Wembury Bay Riding School? The South West Coast Path runs right past the beach, leading in one direction along the mouth of the River Yealm to a foot ferry which runs to Noss Mayo. The views here are quite fantastic. The other direction takes you past Heybrook Bay and on to Mountbatten from where a foot ferry can be taken to the famous Barbican in Plymouth. After a day of activity, why not take a hot shower with complimentary toiletries before heading out for a meal and a drink at one of the three pubs within walking distance. For evenings when you want to relax at home, the kitchen is equipped with everything you need to rustle up a feast to enjoy at the spacious dining table or outside on the raised patio area. There are no communal areas, guests have sole access to the property. The washing machine and tumble dryer are in the garage. If this is locked access can be gained any time on request. Your hosts are working people but are at the end of a phone. We also live very close by. We will be very happy to help with any queries. Wembury has a village shop and a freehouse pub that serves good food. It is also a regular stop-over for people walking the South West Coast Path. There is a very popular beach with rock climbing and a marine centre that holds rock-pooling activities. Wembury is also known for its surfing waves, and on calmer days it is a haven for paddle boarders and kayakers. A favourite with visitors is to paddle around the Great Mewstone and back if you want a challenge! The beach is a 10 minute walk from The Bungalow but if you wish to drive there is a National Trust carpark. Wembury Bay Riding School is down by the beach. This offers riding lessons in the school overlooking the sea, as well as hacks out into woodland every day except Monday. At weekends and during school holidays they run a large variety of kids clubs and activities. The beach also benefits from a cafe, a small beach shop, an ice cream shop and toilets. The Mount Batten Watersports and Activities Centre, which offers multi-activity courses and family fun days is a 10 minute drive away. Plymouth with the Barbican, Hoe, National Marine Aquarium, The Box museum, the Barcode - to name just a few of the things on offer here- is just 20 minutes away by car. Dartmoor is 25 minutes by car, for endless hiking opportunities. Why not try some "letterboxing" on the Tors? The Eden Project, Lost Gardens of Heligan, Paignton Zoo, Splashdown waterpark and many more attractions are in the surrounding area. There is an hourly bus service from Wembury to Plymouth city centre and the journey takes half an hour. The city centre is 7 miles by road. Wembury is located on the South West Coast Path which runs by the beach 10 minutes walk from the house. There are also many other public footpaths in the area (Ordnance Survey OL20 map). Wembury is about 25 minute drive to the Dartmoor National Park. For those who favour sea travel, nearby foot ferries provide transport to The Barbican in Plymouth; the quaint villages of Noss Mayo and Newton Ferrers; and to Mount Edgecombe in Cornwall. There is a train station in Plymouth with regular services down to Cornwall as well as the rest of the country. This property is a great accommodation for groups of four, or for families with a maximum of three children. The third single bed is a fold out bed and although comfortable is not a full size single bed therefore it is not suitable for adults. This bed can be put in the living room or main bedroom. There is not space for it in the second bedroom with the single beds. A fourth child can be accommodated if they are an infant, but please note that we do not provide a travel cot. A plastic easy clean high chair is provided however. Please be aware that dogs are not allowed on Wembury Beach from 1st May to 30th September.
