Monterosi, restored Tuscan villa.
Monterosi is an ecologically restored, stone, Tuscan country house. 15 mins drive from Anghiari, a picturesque unspoilt medieval village in the Arezzo area of Tuscany. Set in fields full of wild flowers, olive and oak trees, Monterosi is amidst some of the most breatiful scenery in Italy. This stone built house has been renovated to the highest ecological standards whilst maintaining its ancient character and serenity. The ultimate holiday escape, with 4 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms, a beautifully equipped kitchen, private swimming pool (5 x 14 metres), Monterosi sleeps 8 people, with a double sofa bed for another two people if needed. The villa faces south across to Umbria, rolling hills and distant mountains. Sunlight floods into the rooms, all of which have gorgeous views. The house has it's own private swimming pool set in it's large garden and plenty of parking space on the property. There are some scattered farm houses on the same hillside and only one other house next-door which does not share the pool or any of the garden. Anghiari, the local village is a 15 minute drive along the track. A beautiful unspoilt medieval Tuscan village, with lots of friendly local shops, cafes and restaurants and weekly market for fruit and vegetable. Sansepolcro the birthplace of the famous artist Piero Della Francesca is another 10 minutes away where you will find bigger supermarkets and shops. Arezzo, 45mins by car is the nearrest city where you will find the nearest train station where trains run regularily to Rome, Florence, Milan etc. Villa Monterosi is very well situated in the centre of Italy, making it a fantastic position for daily outings or simply relaxing at the villa or by the pool. The private swimming pool a large garden and endless walks. I like to pop up to meet the guests when they arrive on the day or the following day. Then I tend to leave them alone unless they call me. Monterosi is an isolated spot in the midsts of the Tuscan hills and countryside. There is only one other house nearby that does not share the pool, garden or land. The pool is exclusively for those who rent the house in the spring and summer. It takes about 15mins in the car to get to Monterosi from the local village(Anghiari). Much of the way is a gravel road, not asphalted. In the winter and colder months of the year (October - April) it can be necessary to use the gas central heating. This is an extra cost when necessary. We have a gas meter. I take a photo of the reading on arrival and another on departure to calculate the consumption. The cost varies according to how cold it is from 25 - 50 euros per day. There are some cats that belong to the neighbouring farmhouses that live outside and come to visit sometimes.
