The stately home was built in 1926 by the inventor of the soybean harvester. The three story giant is in the Elizabeth City historic district. We have filled the house with period antiques. Easy walk to restaurants, waterfront and the Museum. Our house has five bedrooms. Two queen beds with half baths, a four poster full, a second full size bed and two twins. The house has parking in the front and back. The house has high ceilings and neat features from the 1920's such as a giant porch, huge cut glass windows in the living room, and two fire places. High speed internet via wireless router. We love and welcome pets at the extra rate of $25 per night per pet up to 2 well behaved small ( 30 pounds or under) dogs. We also charge an extra $25 per night per person after 2 people. If you add extra people or dogs to your party, please let us know. Guests have access to the whole house including the modern kitchen, with all new stainless steel appliances, laundry room and period decorated dining room and living rooms. We will welcome you on arrival at the front porch. We live twenty minutes away so give us a half hour head's up of your arrival. We will show you around and give you the keys. If we are not around the lockbox will have the keys. Self guided walking tour of historic houses is popular, we can get you started. You can start your walking tour of the Elizabeth City historic district from our front doorsteps. The town waterfront, restaurants and Museum of the Albemarle are within easy walking distance. The neighborhood is safe, tree lined, and friendly. The outerbanks of NC are an hour drive away. We are an hour from Hampton Roads area of VA. Check in is after 4pm. Check out is before 11am. We consider a dog a guest and we charge $25 each night for each dog or guest over 2 guests. please let us know if you add extra guests or dogs. Thank you
