Cosy cottage moments away from Cheddar Gorge
Our country cottage is located right in the heart of the Gorge on the most beautiful street in Cheddar. Through the door is a cosy living room, with comfy couch and plenty of books, games or Netflix for evening entertainment after exploring outdoors. We think pets deserve the best too so under the stairs is 'Wookey Hole' our dog "house" for furry friends. Free parking nearby and the restaurants, pubs, shops and world-famous walks, cycling and climbing of the Gorge are just moments away. The living room has a huge sofa to curl up on after a day exploring Cheddar. Though the door you'll find a dining table with 4 chairs and kitchen complete with everything you need to cook up a feast, washing machine and toastie maker to make some Cheddar cheese toasties. Please help yourself to tea and coffee. Under the stairs you'll find ' Wookey Hole' for furry friends complete with dog sofa, bowls and guest lead. Upstairs are two bedrooms. One double room and the other room either a king or two singles. Please let us know your preference upon booking. You'll also find a cosy reading seat in one of the bedrooms. The bathroom has a bath with a rain shower. Keys will be in the key safe for you when you arrive. We shall message you details prior to arrival. We have neighbours, friends and others in the area who will be available to help if there are any issues during your stay. The cottage is located in the Gorge and the shops, restaurants and pubs are located just 2 minutes down the path. You'll be able to purchase incredible Cheddar cheese and other homemade produce. There are a number of fantastic pubs but our favourite is The Gardener's Arms located on Silver Street. It's a local pub and the food is out of this world. Edelweiss cafe is great for breakfast and located right next to the river. Be sure to say hi and check out our next doors neighbours (Steve and Jayne) - they sell plants from their front doorstep. Cheddar village is located a 10 mintue walk away and here you'll find a small supermarket plus great butchers and bakery (Parsons). Everything you might need is within walking distance but if you want to explore further than Cheddar you will need a car. The drive up the Gorge is incredible. Please note there is free parking just moments away but it is not directly outside the house. If all spaces on Birch Hill are taken you will find parking on Silver Street There is plenty of on street parking very close to the cottage. Best place is 10m down the road on the corner. However, if this is taken there are plenty of spaces 30 secs up the hill round the corner on Silver Street. The lane directly outside the cottage is very quiet so its easy to park up to unload/pack all your stuff.
