Newly renovated 38 sqm apartment that is a part of our house . A space with new bathroom, new kitchen and private terrace and private entrance. In apartment you find all you need for a short or long stay. Only 32 min to Stockholm downtown by subway. A newly renovated (May 2015) apartment that is part of our beautiful house in Johannesdal. The apartment consists of a new fully equipped kitchen/ living room, a sleeping room and a new bathroom. The apartment suits perfectly for a maximum of three residents. However, if you want to be a larger group there is a possibility to book an additional room adjacent to the apartment that can accommodate 2 more people; this room has even an open fireplace. Guests have access to: •The whole apartment consisting of a kitchen / living room, a private bathroom and a bedroom, • The green yard in front of the house overlooking the lake Mälaren. • An outside table with chairs • Free parking Most of the time we will be available in the house. It can happen that we ourselves are away on a business trip or vacation. In this case we have a housekeeper who is available 24/7. This is a historical area in the middle of nature and quite close to the water. There is a large sport ground just next to the house and 3 minute walk to the nearest beach. You can have long walks in the forest and follow Health Walk along coastline of the Lake Mälaren that starts almost behind to the house. The area is children friendly with a number of play grounds within walking distance. The history of the neighbourhood The area has its name after Johannesdals yard, which was built around 1800. Before that there was the village Bleket and on maps dating back to the 18th century, a brick mill is shown on site. The village of Bleket was replaced in the early 1800s by a summer attraction called Johannesdals yard. In the south of the yard was a large orchard planted and farmed. In 1864, the property was acquired by the wholesaler Fredrik Petersén. The "path of Peter" that passes through the area still reminds of him. He managed to build the western wing and founded the "New Build Foundation", which was intended to educate poor girls from formed families. The girls lived in the western wing and were at six to twelve years old, then they were sent to school in Stockholm. In the 1860s the area was cut off from Vårby area. The foundation continued during Peter's daughter, Dorothea, until her death in 1917. The schooling was abolished in 1920 and agriculture ceased. The yard's residential building was rented as a guest house. In 1939, the former owner Arvid Heiding cut up the farm's land in 140 sports homes that were built in the following years. However, the area surrounding the main building was left intact. In 1946 Johannesdal's homeowners' association was formed. At that time Johannesdal belonged to Huddinge country council. Until the 1960's, Johannesdal's farm worked as a summer break. The attention-grabbed Spring City Business in June 1961 Urban plans were drawn for the new neighborhoods and Vårberg began to be built in 1965 around the present center . In 1968 the town plans had come to Johannesdal, when most of the sports homes were divided and were built with large villas. Our house is one of these villas. 8-10 minutes walk to/from Vårberg metro station (ca 900 meters) and 3 minutes to walk to the nearest bus stop. It takes 24 minutes from Vårberg to T-Centralen (Stockholm train station in the middle of the city. In the kitchen you find a all equipments you need. there is a very powerful and good Microwave oven (You can not bake, it is not a normal oven) and a full size induction stove, Kettle, toaster etc .
