Poppy’s Cottage is set in the grounds of a large country house. Down its own private lane and tucked away this is a quiet, beautiful, hidden away escape. The Cottage has underfloor heating, woodburner, Egypian cotton linen, range cooker, full WiFi and access to wonderful walks from the front door. You will be welcome to enjoy some of the main house’s incredible gardens which in turn access public footpaths which lead into seven square miles of forests. Exeter city centre is only 15 mins away. Poppy’s Cottage is a detached property set in the grounds of a large country house. Located down it’s own private lane and tucked away, this is a quiet, beautiful, hidden away escape, yet is within 15 mins drive of the centre of Exeter. The well equipped cottage provides amongst its many comforts: underfloor heating, a woodburner, Egyptian cotton bed linen, Range cooker, fast WiFi, two smart TV’s (one in the twin room) for streaming Netflix etc. and access to wonderful walks from the front door. You will be welcome to enjoy some of the main house’s incredible gardens which in turn access public footpaths which lead into seven square miles of forests. There is a fully enclosed private garden for your young children or four legged friend, along with a covered barn with table tennis and BBQ and outdoor tables and sun loungers. The cottage is being extended into the barn next door in January 2020. This will create a New Master Bedroom with en suite, a dining room and a private Gym. Photos will be uploaded once completed. Accommodation includes three bedrooms, Master Bedroom with en suite, Large King room and twin room. There is also a substantial marble tiled family bathroom upstairs with double ended bath and separate luxury power shower. (There is also a room downstairs with a sofa bed and guest mattress for two for additional cost. This room is usually a snug but does have an en suite shower room, please enquire) Poppy’s Cottage is newly renovated throughout and provides a warm welcoming space to relax in. We are delighted our guests so far have been so lovely about their stays and glad to see some returning. The house does offer a unique, secluded setting to unwind as a family, with total privacy and only the sounds of nature, along with access to the most stunning gardens. You are welcome to explore an additional 12 acres of our gardens and grounds with some unique plants and stunning floral displays. Covid 19. We always keep the cottage super clean and you will certainly be able to socially distance - with the exception of our little dogs Woody and Willow who have yet to master this skill! We know all the local farm shops, supplying meat, fish, vegetables, takeaway foods (even locally made Middle Eastern meals which are our favourite) local game pies and even seafood, all delivered to the door. Waitrose, Sainsbury's and Tescos all deliver here and the nearest supermarket is about 7 mins drive away. This is a cottage to enjoy long walks, sun bathing if the weather allows, games, films, table tennis, wonderful meals, bird watching and even badger and deer spotting. If you have a lot of energy then do use the gym! Poppy’s Cottage is set in the large formal gardens and woodland of a beautiful country house. These grounds are considered to be amongst the finest in the county. Guests have their own parking and will be able to enjoy areas of the gardens which will be detailed within the information provided on arrival. A potentially truly magical and unique stay awaits. There is a key safe. Lots of parking by the cottage A car is advisable but we also often drive to Crediton where you can park for free and pick up the local branch train line. This takes you to the moors or to the beach or to Exeter. We take our dogs on the train Full information will be provided about your stay and we can be available for anything vital that you need, but you will be staying within the grounds of our family home and we ask you to resepct our privacy as we will respect yours. Very close to Exeter, Dartmoor and the coast. We are full of Devon ideas and the cottage will have walking books, maps and suggestions. Or best of all walk from the door, read, light fires, watch films and relax! If you don't like relaxing there is a private gym for the cottage and a table tennis barn. Newton St Cyres has a famous pub, the beer engine and 5 mins drive away is a Hanlons which make the best burgers you have ever eaten and that is no exaggeration. Our local train line has just re opened so a stress free day is to park the car in Crediton (free) and travel towards the sea (Exmouth beach) or the moor. Cheap and fun way to get around, Exmouth has our favourite fish and chip shop. A car is necessary here.
