Hillview & Stringybark, Halls on Falls Homestead
Hillview and Stringybark are part of Halls on Falls Homestead. Just over an hour's drive north of Melbourne either up the Hume Freeway or Melba Highway. We welcome families and groups and can also accommodate equine groups, horse enthusiasts and their horses. We are able to offer weekend or weekly accommodation in our 2 houses which can accommodate 16 guests. Ideally suited to those special catch ups with friends and family. Come and enjoy the peaceful, natural surrounds and beautiful scenery. The homestead is set amongst tranquil gardens and has a swimming pool available during the the summer months - December to February. A BBQ under the shady gazebo, is at your disposal for breakfast, lunch or dinner. There is a Basketball ring & small cricket pitch, and a dedicated horse arena for use with guest horses, as well as multiple paddocks for guests' horses. On the homestead, we use sustainable energy to produce our own electricity, harnessing solar power. Our pristine water comes from captured rain water. When using water for showers, flushing the toilet and using power, please be mindful of our natural resources and how limited they are. We look forward to welcoming you to our property and will be happy to interact with you if and when you require. The area surrounding Halls on Falls Homestead has some great hiking tracks, including 'Mt Buggery' located across the creek if you need to burn some energy. 20 mins to the top is the record to date (by walking). There are also numerous tracks through the nearby Mt Disappointment State Forest to explore. This region has an enormous amount to offer visitors ranging from the Goulburn River which is only a 10 minute drive and Yea township only 30 minutes drive, visiting the local wineries, pubs and farmers markets. There is also good fishing just past the township of Strath Creek at Richards Bridge. For the bicycle rider, horse rider or walking enthusiasts, we are only a 9 minute drive from Kerrisdale which has an access point for the Great Victorian Rail Trail which can take you in either direction towards Tallarook or Yea and onto Mansfield. Horse riders are able to access horse trails directly from the property. We are located just over an hour's drive from Melbourne Airport (95km) and 1 hour and 20 minutes from Melbourne CBD (106km) The V line train runs into Broadford (closest train station) and Seymour from Melbourne. However, you will need a car to get to the Homestead and to sight see in the local area. The limit of guests is 8 people in each house, totaling 16 people across both houses.
