Why stay in a place you have never heard of before? Because it is the real hidden french countryside you read about in your summer novels: the time stands still, the nature is untouched except for farmers and their famous Charolles cows. The sky belongs to hawks during the day and to owls and bats at night. The sunsets are magnificent. On the side of a windy country road, surrounded by centuries old stone walls and thick green hedges, lies a group of stone houses built by one family over the past three centuries. Our house was the last addition and transports you to the end of the 19th century. You will look through hand blown original glass paints and walk the stately stone staircase. The garden, the view and the newly built swimming pool will garantee you the vacation time you are looking for. We are in the south of Burgundy near the holy pilgrimage site Paray-le-Monial. One isn’t burdened by overwhelming heat, as the nights stay fresh even if the days are hot. You are not in much danger of competing with other tourists and will only experience the simple warm welcome from the locals. Time here has a different meaning than what you are probably used to. No wonder the medieval monks of Cluny settled here and built their magnificent romanesque churches. We are at a less then 10 min. drive from the La Clayette train station. It is located on the train line Lyon (1,5hour)- Paray le Monial (30min). We offer the possibility to pick up/drop of service from this train station for our guests as well. Our vintage cars Renault 4 or Citroën 2CV can be rented for additional charge during your stay. There are bicycles avaible to you as well- free of charge.
