This attractive renovated stone built house offers character and charm typical of a Burgundy country property with a private garden and gravel courtyard. Nearby is a stream which creates a perfect ambiance for those relaxing moments. The house comprises an entrance direct to a spacious dining room, kitchen and old cheese storage room (fromagerie) all with original Burgundy stone floors and exposed oak beams. A magnificent stone fireplace with an open fire highlights this room. The kitchen is well equipped with most things available. The next room is a more cozy living/sitting room also with stone floors, exposed oak beams and a fireplace, this time with a wood burning stove. The shower room and toilet are on the ground floor. The two bedrooms are located on the upper floor. The property has central heating and is in good decorative condition with many period and traditional features. Car necessary The house is set in a semi-rural hamlet, surrounded by rolling hills, forest and 2 km from the Burgundy Canal. Being in the heart of the Auxois region you are very close to all the major attractions. Nearby is the historical medieval town of Semur en Auxois, Flavigny-Sur-Ozerain (famous as the setting for the film 'Chocolat') Alise St. Reine,(highest point in Auxois) Abbey De Fontenay (a world heritage site), Vezelay, Dijon, Beaune, and Chablis. For those of you that love the outdoors, you can spend time walking or biking along the tow path of the Canal, admiring the beautiful views and catching a glimpse of the abundant wildlife and plant life. For those interested in wine, some of the world's most famous vineyards are easily accessible; Beaune, Nuits st George, Pommard, Chablis and further south near Macon. There are a number of local markets where you can buy fresh local produce, and these are held on various days during the week.
