Winding River

Winding River sits on a gentle knoll overlooking a horseshoe bend in the beautiful Susquehanna River. There is a balcony facing west so guests can enjoy the river view with rolling hills and awesome sunsets. We are just over 8 miles from Cooperstown. The first and second levels of the house are available with four bedrooms, living room, kitchen, dining area and one full bath with shower/tub and a second bath with shower. The balcony has seating and there is a gas grill and picnic table in the back lawn. There is a path to the river for fishing or paddle sports. The house has recently been remodeled with new contemporary furnishings. Basement is owner storage space. Hosts live minutes away and are available by phone if needed. Attractions only minutes away include National Baseball Hall of Fame, Farmers Museum, Fenimore Art Museum, Glimmerglass Opera, Brewery Ommegang, Fly Creek Cider Mill, and sites on the Cooperstown Beverage Trail. The Cooperstown and Charlotte Valley Railroad is in the closest village with seasonal train rides, train robberies, and weekend Blues Train with live music. Cooperstown Rail Explorers offer power-assisted railway bike rides through the Susquehanna River valley, with views and fall foliage. SUNY Oneonta and Hartwick College are 20 minutes away. There are two baseball camp facilities, Cooperstown Dreams Park and All-Star Village, which offer an invited team experience for 12-year-olds. This is a rural area but there is a bus from nearby Milford to Cooperstown or Oneonta. During busy summer months Cooperstown runs a trolley from parking areas at the edge of the village. During the months of June, July, and August, rentals are weekly only from Friday-Friday. High speed internet, WiFi, and satellite TV. Room air conditioners are available during the summer season.
